We had all thought that Deion Sanders had got it. Nebraska would be an easy win for Coach Prime, right? You have to give it up for HC Matt Rhule and Dylan Raiola. That team went up against true veterans and managed to rock the entire O-line, which Deion had handcrafted for the 2024 season. Shedeur was sacked 5 times in that game, making us feel like the entire 2023 season is coming back. Raiola stood his ground. He didn’t even feel like a freshman. However, while the 28-10 loss was a huge reality check for Deion Sanders and his boys, another big problem that awaited Deion was Shilo Sanders’ injury during the first half of the game.
Dante Dowdell rushed in with a 13-yard run and, in an attempt to run through Shilo, ended up injuring the Buffs’ safety. Deion, on September 9th, took to Instagram to share his concerns regarding his kid’s recovery. “Praying for a SPEEDY recovery regarding the injury to @shilosanders. Trust God son, you may not understand it now but u will,” Deion wrote in his Instagram post. Shilo was rushed to the locker room a few moments after the incident. While proper reports regarding the injury are still not out, Shilo’s fate hangs in limbo. Losing him for the rest of the season would be a major setback for Deion Sanders. Shilo is one of the key assets of the defense and has been performing great since the NDSU season opener. The broken forearm would probably force Shilo to take a seat for the rest of the season. Coach Prime’s ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, is yet to make any comments regarding her son and his injury.

The entire game against the Huskers was a disaster. We saw how miserable the entire Buffs O-line was. Out of all the people, even Travis Hunter was frustrated with what was going on. While the pace did start to pick up during the second half of the game with Alejandro Mata’s field goal and then LaJohntay Wester’s TD, it was not enough to save the team. The Buffs pulled in 16 rushing yards. So, after all this, is there any shot for Deion to pick up the pace and save his pride?
Can Deion Sanders revive the Buffs again?

The second half showed us that the Buffs’ defense ain’t nearly as bad as we had thought. They were accurate in locking down the Husker rushes and the QB and made proper room for Shedeur and LaJohntay Wester to play from. However, losing Shilo means having the end-zone defense completely crippled. Shilo was solid back during the NDSU game and also had glimpses of greatness against the Huskers.

Why is Pilar Sanders staying silent on Shilo's injury? What could be the reason?
Have an interesting take?
If the Buffs want to win against the Rams on September 15th, then Deion has to do something about this O-line. At this point, all of this doesn’t even feel like a curse. It’s like the staff or the players refuse to learn from last year’s mistakes and better themselves. We had already pointed out that Matt Rhule would do anything in his power to exploit the leaky offense and he did exactly that. Rams would try the same and for some reason, this time around, we cannot root for the Buffs cause Deion has to prove himself now.
