For the longest time, it’s only been about Deion Sanders in the Sanders household. Whether it be the CFB, or now the NFL Draft landscape, Shedeur and Shilo have evidently taken the backseat at times. But looks like Coach Prime’s say in his sons’ life is nearing its end. Or at least that’s what it feels like after Shilo’s latest confession, where he also called out the community for their injustice against his mother Pilar. But before we get to that…

The Sanders family dynamics have been chaotic for a long time now. With a messy divorce, and some public mud-slinging, the couple’s young children had to bear most of the brunt. I wouldn’t want to put anybody, you know, kids or anything, through divorces, through dysfunction, through anything, because it’s tough on kids,” Shedeur had once confessed.

The QB had also revealed an emotional change in his life post his parent’s split. Like every other child on Christmas, Shedeur and Shilo would rush to unwrap their presents. The only thing awaiting them would be brown Amazon boxes labelled ‘Dad’ on the receipt…“We didn’t even get the gifts wrapped up. Mom and Dad split up, and it was no more gifts wrapped up from Dad. It was straight brown boxes or whatever, just straight up. It came in the mail from Amazon.”

While Deion Jr had later clarified that his father simply didn’t want his children to falsely believe in Santa, Shedeur’s confession did feel unnerving to many. Shilo, on the other hand, has never been one to discuss the difficult situation. Not anymore, though. In a recent conversation, he made things amply clear…

On January 25, rivalsdotcom’s Instagram page shared a video where Shilo was seen making an earnest and stern request to the public. Captioned, “Shilo Sanders on growing up with Coach Prime as his Dad 👀”, the video showed the football safety firmly state, “I don’t call myself Coach Prime’s son. That’s y’all that call me that. I’ve been making a name for myself for a long time. If you just wanna keep calling me that, then that’s cool. We’re not really focused on that. I mean, that’s our dad. He’s great. So if you wanna say those are Prime’s sons, it is what it is. We are Prime’s sons.”

And then came the most important part of the message—one that he hopes the world would listen to. “We are also individuals and we’re good at what we do also. The only thing bad about like people saying, ‘Coach Prime’s sons’, they just leave my mom out, you know? Like my mom’s sitting over here like call them Pilar’s sons sometimes,” the 24-year-old said.

Having said that, though the divorce ended up with Pilar pretty much losing, coughing up $2.2 million on a defamation lawsuit, and going on a no-speaking term with her ex-husband, that doesn’t mean she has called quits on her duties…

Remember the Kansas State disaster? Yes, Shilo was pretty much non-existent throughout that game. “I thought he played horrible,” was Deion’s critique about his son. You can’t expect Coach Prime to hold back even when talking about his own flesh and blood. “It was better for me to go through a down. It made me lock in, watch all my film and prepare to the highest level,” Shilo said, and “improve” he did…

Took out 4 solid tackles against Arizona which pushed the Wildcats to just 245 yards of coverage. And while Deion didn’t make any comments on his son’s progress, do you know who did? “Just in case you missed some of the highlights…. GO @shilosanders,” Pilar wrote while sharing Shilo’s massive sack on her Instagram account.

And the “hype train” doesn’t stop here. When Shilo dropped his single – Hate 2 Love – Pilar jumped straight on her IG to share the song. “FINALLY!!!!!! I’M SO PROUD OF YOU SON!” she wrote. With all of this in mind, does it really surprise you that Shilo wants more people to call him Pilar’s son as well?

I mean, don’t we already know how he and Shedeur would literally start “World War III” during Seniors’ Day if it means getting their parents together on their most important day…

Deion Sanders’ “skedaddled” out of the way

Oh, you didn’t know? “My brother [Shedeur] just got my mom from the stands cause of the senior day and we didn’t know we had to walk. They’re not gonna. That’s like World War III trying to get them to walk together,” Shilo pointed out. Now whether you wanna call these brothers brave or stupid, it’s up to you. However, the confrontation went just about the way we thought it would go…

As per a video that surfaced on social media, the moment Deion saw Pilar, he quickly patted his sons on their back and ducked out toward the locker room. “The biggest blessing that I have in my life is the ability to walk away,” Deion had later pointed out, clearing why he decided to not confront his ex-wife.

Nice try Shilo but maybe next time’s the charm?
