Shilo Sanders is synonymous with the word brickbats in Colorado. Unlike his highly hyped-up dad, Deion Sanders, and brother, Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado Safety often finds himself on the other side of the fans’ sentiment and, of course, not for nothing. His numbers weren’t impressive in 2024. Although he capped off the season with 45 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble, Shilo had an iffy season. There were great days, and at the same time, there were days that led to a rebuke from Coach Prime. Consequently, his last name didn’t work in his favor when it came to receiving the coveted invitation to the NFL combine at Indianópolis.

But guess what? The former CEO of the Headache gang continues to pursue his NFL dream, letting no negativity affect his endless strive for success. Instead of whining about his absence from the NFL’s 2025 Combine invite list, Shilo Sanders started to turn the page, bringing Zybek Sports—the makers of the official timing system used at the official event—to the Buffaloes’ facility in Boulder.

In a recent YouTube video, the Colorado Buffs safety dished a reality for Jeff Foster, the NFL Football Scouting president responsible for sending out Combine invitations, while using Zybek Sports’ Combine Testing Equipment to hone his craft better for the Colorado Pro Day. “I didn’t get invited to the combine, so they brought the combine to me,” Shilo said at the beginning of a lengthy preparatory video. Now, you have all right to say anything is possible when you embody the elite identity of the legendary Deion Sanders, but sleeping on his talent on that typical ground would be silly.

Shilo might not have lived the best season of his career at Boulder, giving it up to multiple injuries and a series of penalties, but he is not finished yet. The kid is still super energized to make it great at pro if supported by a good offensive line and rightly equipped coaching. After, he has the raw element. In a video shared on his YouTube channel Sunday, the Colorado Buffaloes safety was seen pushing himself beyond the limit, picking up his personal best speed with the fastest 40-yard dash while keeping his eyes fixed on Colorado’s Pro Day. His training at Colorado’s facilities is solely designed for refining his speed and overall athleticism.

Fans have nothing but hype for the 25-year-old in the comments: a pretty rare reality of the underrated Colorado safeties’ brief career span.

Shilo Sanders gets a very unusual reception from fans following his head turning workout

Deion Sanders has done everything to stage his two footballers’ sons to the best of their ability both in Jackson State and in Colorado. In the case of Shedeur, he is a proud dad. But when it comes to Shilo, the veteran head coach pauses for a little before making any Deion Sanders’ archetypical remark. But he never leaves the side of his younger son, always guiding and leading him toward the light amidst the swirling claims about nepotism. Finally, the dad instinct got some relief as Shilo made it big on the practice, and that too with an NFL combine tool. It was a huge moment for a coach, a father, and every single Colorado Buffs fan. One of the users denoted that it’s the blood that is making all the talk: ”That DNA 🧬 kick in.”

While another one opted to go for a minute analysis of Shilo’s class performance ahead of April’s draft day and said, ”He definitely looks really good on the back end of his 40. Good closing speed. If he is able to correct any flaws in his start, he will probably have an impressive time.”  Shilo has been majorly inconsistent in some infamous games against the Kansas Jayhawks and NDSU this year, but he can always get out of his errors if he wants to. He has the willpower, the right guidance, and the ability to work harder.

The fan continued, ”Finding his resemblance with his legendary dada in his heyday, to be honest, that closing speed reminds me of Prime. Hopefully, scouts will see that. His not being invited to the combines is not a big deal. Lots of players don’t get invited and have long, successful careers. This is also why some choose not to participate. If you are good, you are good and they will find you.’

Another fan walked some extra mile to collect some data from the past to cement his Shilo’s glory and wrote: Fastest 40-yard dash times for safeties. Zedrick Woods: Ran a 4.29 in 2019, the fastest time ever for a safety at the combine, Nick Cross: Ran a 4.34 in 2022, which helped him get drafted by the Indianapolis Colts, Troy Apke: Ran a 4.34 in 2018.’

Not getting an NFL Combine invite certainly isn’t the end of the world if you look at the prodigies like Tom Brady, Grady Jarrett, Vince Williams, and others. Maybe Shilo Sanders’ is the next on the list, as a fan claimed: ”You will have a great NFL career. Mark my words…’ while another seconded him, saying, ”NFL BOUND! No weapon from against you shall prosper.”
