Everything was going as it was expected for the first few games in the 2024 college football games. But after watching Week 6 games, the college football world has turned upside down especially when No. 1 Alabama lost to unranked Vanderbilt. This totally affected their AP poll ranking. However, one more team that got such drastic changes in the AP poll rankings is the Michigan Wolverines. Sherrone Moore’s team was holding the No. 10 position, and after facing a brutal loss to unranked Washington, they fell down to 24th! That’s just hilarious. Even after that, do you know the team is on its way to receiving an honor?
We all know about the prestigious Joe Moore Awards, right? Recently, the foundation announced the 2024 mid-season honor roll, which they give to the most outstanding Oline in college football, including 22 teams and the Army. Notable programs such as Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas were noted, with teams spanning eight conferences and independent.
However, when the Michigan Wolverines’ offensive line got named to the 2024 Joe Moore Award mid-season honor roll, the college football world went crazy. Michigan getting named for an O-line award even after giving flop performances in the 2024 season is wild! Although they have a history of success, won this award back to back from 2021 to 2022 and became the first program to do that. But that was history because, under Sherrone Moore’s guidance, their O line has been getting criticized since the season started, especially after they lost against an inferior team, Washington, by 17-27.

From Michigan football’s official ‘X’ page, they shared a post writing, “Our offensive line has been named to the Joe Moore award midseason honor roll #GoBlue.” To that, one fan wrote, “This is an absolute joke,” followed by a laughing emoji. That’s not surprising because this is a general sentiment right now.
The Michigan offense has not gotten the work done this season. From quarterback Carousel to wide receivers, their offense needs to gel. The passing game has been non-existent, despite Moore trying three quarterbacks in just six weeks of football action.
To express their shock after reading Michigan’s post, another fan wrote, “Lolololo, really?” This one fan is so surprised by that. Well, everyone is currently experiencing surprise.

One more curious fan wrote, “Was this for last year?” Is he really asking, or is he just joking around? Well, the possibility of the latter being true is high. Everyone knows the Michigan Wolverines were national champions, and they won all kinds of awards last season. But this year, Nah! Moving forward, an angry fan wrote, “This kinda makes the award a joke.” Relax, man, they have not won it yet! They just got named for it.
However, one more fan went a step ahead and said, “In which universe?” That was, so far, the best comment we have read. In this universe and this college football season, Michigan is far from getting this award. Jokes apart, but seriously, if it comes true and the Wolverines take away this award, these angry fans might start trolling the award itself.
