Sherrone Moore has his eyes on an Ivy League WR! Michigan already has the nation’s No. 1 overall player in their midst with the unexpected commitment of Bryce Underwood. So this calls for a WR talent hunt with whom he could have a great on-field chemistry. Moore is already in contact with two transfer receivers from Clemson and UConn. But there’s always room for more, and this new interest could get bigger than the other two.

There’s a chance Sherrone Moore might welcome the visit of a Yale WR transfer to Ann Arbor. On January 4, Michigan Sports Talk brought fresh intel on the Wolverines’ recruiting front regarding David Pantelis. According to the report, “He is set to take a visit to Michigan this weekend… He’s a first team all Ivy League wide receiver and obviously Michigan should be a player in this one.”

At 5’11, 196 pounds, David Pantelis was a force at Yale this season. He racked up 1,018 yards and 11 touchdowns on 69 receptions in 11 games. The senior WR entered the transfer portal after the 2024 regular season and has since received several offers from programs like Stanford, West Virginia, Missouri, and others. He announced his latest offer from Michigan on January 3 on his social media with the caption, “Grateful to receive an offer from Michigan.”

Reports also suggested that David Pantelis would be dropping his decision next week. But the planned visit to Ann Arbor this weekend could influence his decision in favor of Michigan. The first-year HC emphasized on getting and keeping the best players. He said, “When you got a kid that’s right down the road, I’m gonna make a big, huge emphasis to keep the best players in Michigan in Michigan.” Pantelis’ offer is crucial for the Wolverines, who are also in contact with two other star WR transfers.

Sherrone Moore hunts for elite WRs in Clemson and UConn products

Clemson WR transfer Troy Stellato caught Michigan’s attention when he entered the portal on December 3. The 6’1, 190-pounder suffered a thumb injury that plagued his performance for the season. He recorded 25 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown in eight games. But perhaps Sherrone Moore realizes his potential to connect well with their blue-chip signal caller.

What’s your perspective on:

Will David Pantelis' potential move to Michigan be the game-changer the Wolverines need?

Skyler Bell is another name we might be associating with Michigan in the future. Ann Arbor reportedly hosted this 6’0 UConn transfer who completed this season with 47 catches for 738 yards and four TDs. Michigan Wolverines Talk did mention that “things are looking good for Michigan to land UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell.” But the decision is yet to surface, and for all we know, it could be the opposite of what we expect.
