Building a roster often feels like solving a Rubik’s cube. But Michigan may have found its secret weapon—a “package deal” that could revolutionize its 2025 recruiting class. With one move already locked in, the Wolverines are eyeing another crucial piece to create an elite offensive duo.
As Michigan Sports Talk reported on November 18, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell made a strategic visit to Cocoa High School in Florida. Their primary mission? To evaluate Brady Hart, the Wolverines’ 2026 quarterback commit. But their trip wasn’t just about Hart. They were there to scout his teammate and close friend, four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, a current UCF commit. After seeing Boggs perform live, Moore offered him a scholarship, making it clear that Michigan is serious about flipping the talented wideout.
The route runner has already decommitted from Ohio State, Missouri, and the Knights, clearly showing he’s ready to chase the best opportunity. With a strong connection to Hart, things could lean Michigan’s way. As the host said, “Brady Hart wants him here at Michigan,” and added, “Now Michigan, their next step is to get him on campus for a visit, and we could potentially see him take an official visit to Michigan this weekend against Northwestern.”

Well, Boggs isn’t your typical recruit. Standing at 6’1”, Boggs is sort of a route surgeon, you can say. His junior season stats are jaw-dropping: nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, leading his team to a state championship. Michigan already boasts a promising receiver class for 2025, including Top-100 prospect Andrew Marsh and physical standouts like Jacob Washington and Jamar Browder. But adding Jayvan Boggs, with his established chemistry with Hart, could elevate the offense to another level.
While Moore and Co. are in a welcoming mood, there might be someone who’s packing his bags in the corner. What an irony.

Things are a bit rough for the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Sherrone Moore stepped up as head coach, and it’s been a challenge. He practically built an entirely new coaching staff, but they’re sitting at a 5-5 record with just two games left this season. On the bright side, Coach Moore is an absolute rock star in recruiting, bringing top talent to the maize and blue. Even when the wins aren’t piling up, the future looks promising! But for how long?
CBS Sports rounded up a bunch of writers to see which coaches are feeling the heat after a bumpy ’24 season. Sure enough, Michigan’s Sherrone Moore made the list. But here’s the twist: most agreed that it’s a free pass for the rookie head coach this time around. “This is essentially a mulligan year for Moore. At Michigan, you shouldn’t have those, but this is a unique situation,” said one of the writers.
But let’s be real, the scoreboard is the ultimate judge in football. Wins and losses are the ticket to job security or the fast track to the exit. Some folks say Coach Moore’s got a three-year clock ticking to turn things around, or he’s outta there. But in reality, they are betting 2025 will be the make-or-break year for him.
