If you are a Michigan fan, you will definitely be aware of the QB battle after Michigan’s season opener against Fresno State. During the practice, Michigan’s top QB, Alex Orji and Davis Warren, were continuing to create a product of the room which caused competition. Orji last year recorded 86 yards and a touchdown, whereas Warren went 8-of-13 for 163 yards. So, the competition was quite neck-to-neck. In this situation, Michigan Head Coach, Sherrone Moore, said a bold statement, “I think the No. 1 thing for us as we look for that guy is the person that’s going to take care of the football,“. So, making the right decision was very crucial for the Wolverines.
However, every QB like Jack Tuttle, Jayden Denegal, Jadyn Davis, and more is doing pretty well, and that is why choosing the starting QB gets difficult for the Wolverines. However, this QB competition faded after the historic commitment from the recruiting trail. It not only makes the coaches happy but also makes the group rank No. 12 in the nation. Therefore, you can imagine how groundbreaking commitment this is.

On August 21, 2024, ‘On3 Recruits‘ posted a picture of Marsh and Moore on their X account with the caption “🚨BREAKING🚨 Top-100 WR Andrew Marsh has committed to Michigan〽️“. Andrew ranked as the No. 8 wide receiver in the nation according to 247Sports, although he became the highest-rated WR to commit to the Wolverines since Donovan Peoples-Jones from Cass Tech in 2017. It seems like the biggest celebration for the Wolverines.

Nonetheless, Moore shared his celebration on his X account through a lovely caption “Let’s goooooooooo!! We just got an elite playmaker!! #GoBlue🔵 “. However, the four-star WR chose Michigan over more than 35 Division I offer, such as Penn State, USC, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and so on. It reflects that the Wolverines landed a big fish for their 2025 class. Furthermore, as per the track record of 65 passes with 15 touchdowns in junior year, Marsh is an exceptional performer. On his commitment to Michigan, he stated, “Michigan is really just somewhere I feel really comfortable“. Although Marsh’s commitment doesn’t end the QB competition, it’s worth examining the QB coach’s viewpoint.

When asked “ How he’s gone about making sure the QB room is ready to be at its best for the upcoming 2024 season,” the offensive coordinator, Kirk Campbell, stated, “First off, we pride ourselves on making sure we’re the most prepared unit in the country, stepping on the practice field, the game field, whenever the bullets are flying for us,“. Hence, it is apparent that Michigan is looking at every detail to make the best decision for the team.
Now, only the day-to-day report can help to select a guy that the players want to play for and want to be surrounded by, according to Campbell. The final outcome will be time-consuming, but it is anticipated that Michigan will make a deliberate choice.
