Is Michigan pulling off a wise tactical move or is it just tomfoolery? The Michigan fans have been left scratching their heads after a major reveal of a flaw in their roster was released almost a week before their game against the USC Trojans. Currently, the reigning national championships, the Wolverines rank 11th out of the 18 teams in the Big 10 Conference League, which is already a cause for concern for the new HC, Sherrone Moore. He seems to be adding to his troubles by revealing his game plan too early, which is exactly what he’s done by announcing his replacement for Davis Warren against USC this week.

For the first 3 games of the season, Warren was the starting QB, but after a poor performance against Arkansas State, Moore picked Orji to replace him. After which, Orji threw out four pass attempts but completed a touchdown pass. As per Moore, Orji played better than Davis and said, “Davis was playing good, but you can’t have those turnovers. Orji went in there and did a good job, missed the one throw, but thought he controlled the offense pretty well. We’ll go from there.” Now, Moore has gone a step further and has made Alex Orji the starting QB over Davis Warren, which has got the fans riled up.

More so than who’s right for the job, the Wolverines’ fans are more upset with Moore for announcing the game plan too early and ruining the element of surprise against USC. This fan pointed out the lack of mature thinking within Moore’s mentality and wrote, “Rookie move announcing this today. Should’ve kept USC thinking it was Warren until at least Friday.

Sherrone Moore has a lot of expectations to coach against, with every move of his being compared to the likes of Jim Harbaugh. But amid all the unnecessary hate he receives on a daily basis, the fans might have been right in their unanimous opinion.

The stakes have never been higher for the Wolverines to perform well and protect their title. With cheating controversies and their best players leaving for the NFL, Moore’s team has been hanging on by a loose thread. All of that could’ve been overcome by having a successful season. But so far, Moore keeps making blunders, his most recent being his decision to reveal Orji’s new position too soon.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Sherrone Moore the right fit for Michigan, or is he holding the team back?

Have an interesting take?

This fan commented on how the Trojans now have time to prepare for Orji’s skills by knowing the change too early and said, “Why are we announcing this on Monday? This should have been withheld until the very last minute. Nwo they have time to prepare for Orji instead of Warren. Hapless coaching going at my program. Did we rehire Hoke the joke?”

Next, this person seemed to be confused as to why the program would reveal their game plan so early and doubted whether it was a tactical move or not. The comment read, “Announcing a starting QB for the week ahead is new. Could it be a swerve? Tuttle healthy?” Another Michigan fan was upset with this revealing of information which has occurred way too early and said, “Why would he announce this on Monday? Should’ve just shown up and had Orji out there for the first series”

Lastly, a USC fan came in the comments to extend his gratitude to the Michigan team for giving them an upper hand in terms of preparation for their showdown. The comment read, “As a USC fan thank you for alerting us early. As a football fan in general why even announce this? Shut up and show up and trot him on the field.”

Thus, it would be no less than a miracle if Michigan ends up winning the game against USC with Orji as the starting QB since the Trojans now have enough time to change their tactics but maybe this information could ironically be a Trojan horse and trap the men in red with the confusion? We’ll find out soon enough.
