In a Marvel movie, it’s often a tough decision to choose between saving just one life or an entire city. Similarly, Sherrone Moore‘ Michigan finds himself in a high-stakes dilemma prior to the bowl game. Much like Bama’s Kalen DeBoer, Moore must now handle a situation that has sparked outcry due to player absences from Alabama. As key contributors potentially step aside, Moore is faced with the challenge of nurturing future stars while also maintaining the team’s focus on winning. This reminds us that football’s toughest battles often occur behind the scenes.

Sometimes uncertainties prevent you from putting in your utmost efforts, even after having the capability. The same is going on with Kalen DeBoer’s Bama and Sherrone Moore’s Michigan. Alabama already ran out of talented players because of their transfer portal switch, and now Moore also hints at the same, talking about not taking out underclassmen on the field, saying, “It’s great. It’s going to be great for practice. Just watching guys out there right now in practice is awesome. So, yeah, the number one goal is to win. Whoever’s going to give us the best chance to win, that’s who we’re going to play.”

Well, it sounded more like a dilemma than a great opportunity to utilize them in the Bowl game, as somehow Coach Moore hinted at more upperclassmen playing. Usually, seniors will be playing the bowl game, as juniors who opt out and enter the transfer portal don’t play bowl games since they treat that as a dead rubber. It’s hard to predict how both teams are going to hold up there gameplay after such a lousy regular season and shortage of players.

Michigan recently lost their offensive lineman Raheem Anderson to the transfer portal as he is stepping out of Ann Arbor to make the most out of his last one year of eligibility left as a graduate transfer. But this is not good news for the team, as lately he was on special teams making an impact on the field. The same is the situation with Kalen DeBoer and the team, as they lost 10 players to the portal, but looking at both the team’s standing in the season, none of this is a huge surprise. Now what the future holds is what’s important.
