Can Bryce Underwood be the savior Michigan needs to reclaim their former football glory?

Now, this was a fun back-and-forth. Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines are in a ditch this year. Jim Harbaugh left Moore with a broken roster. The team’s offensive depth was all over the place, and the defense barely put up any good performance. It was surreal watching the 2023 national champs lose to a team like Illinois or even Hoosiers. With a 5-5 run under his belt, Sherrone Moore doesn’t have much left this season. However, there is still a way to make a comeback and probably even build Michigan back to its former glory. And the first step towards that dream would be securing the No.1 QB commitment for the 2025 class.

The case of Bryce Underwood and Michigan vs LSU; We have covered this story multiple times, and there have been multiple plot twists. First was the entire thing with Moore and Wolverines recruiting, dropping a $5 million NIL deal on the table to grab Underwood. Then we spotted this guy at the LSU vs Bama showdown with a $15K moissanite, which had the Tigers logo on it. After all these shenanigans, it was natural to assume Underwood was sticking with Brian Kelly. But nope. Fate had different plans. Back on The Michigan Insider, Donovan Dooley mentioned, “He has what we call pocket, courage. He’s not going to waver in the pocket. He’s not going to flush early. He’s going to use his legs.”

Bryce Underwood is now with Michigan, and boy, oh boy, he has all the capabilities to turn around the Wolverines’ poor QB performance. See, going into the 2024 season, even Moore wasn’t sure who his starting QB would be. With JJ McCarthy out, it felt as if all the talent from the team had been siphoned out.

Both Alex Orji and Davis Warren have been a mess. Both of these dudes, collectively, have noy managed to cross past even 1100 yards. Imagine that. And Warren even has more interceptions thrown than touchdowns.

With Underwood in the mix, Moore and Wolverines fans can finally look forward to a good season next year. However, another thing you gotta keep an eye out for is the fact that this ain’t the only big Michigan recruitment win we have seen so far.

The first piece of the puzzle was Shamari Earls. See, Earls was in with the Dawgs, and, well, Kirby Smart did not want to let the No.9 CB in the entire nation go so easily. Back on another episode of The Michigan Insider, Sam Webb mentioned how UGA had tried to “to get him not to visit”.

Have an interesting take?

Well, he still did, and guess what? Just a few hours later, we found that Earls had flipped over to the Wolverines. Now, with that bag secured and with the Underwood commitment, Michigan has their best CB and QB on board. What is needed next is a WR, and do you know the perfect fit for it?

See, Underwood’s commitment comes with a catch. “I don’t think Meadows would’ve visited Michigan yesterday,” was something EJ Holland had pointed out regarding 4-star WR Derek Meadows. The theory was that Meadows decided to visit because he was also interested in what Underwood was planning. Now that Bryce has jumped ships, there is a high chance Meadows could end up ditching LSU and joining the Wolverines.
