Oh, no! College football fans yet again got the proof that ‘Karma hits.’ Yes, we know how the LSU Tigers had a bad heartbreak. And you can guess what we are hinting at? The famous Bryce Underwood flip. The No.1 recruit was initially committed to Brian Kelly’s program. Here’s where Michigan Wolverines took an entry. Sherrone Moore and Co. tried to lure away Underwood from the Tigers. Well, we know how the Wolverines finally succeeded in their attempt. But looks like the universe now planned some foul play and placed Moore in the same position as Kelly. Now, the Michigan HC will get to know how it feels to lose a player that you want to land.

From a year ago, Underwood had shown an intent to play with Kelly’s program. However, that did not stop Moore from pursuing him. So, the Tigers had to do something about it. LSU then offered a four-year deal worth nearly $10 million. And BOOM! This became a challenge for the Wolverines to land the QB by hook or by crook. Even though we do not know the exact figure, we can assume that Moore brought something significantly heftier than Kelly’s $10 million offer. That’s when Underwood hit the ‘FLIP’ button on December 4. You know the feeling of receiving that favorite toy and showing it off in your class the next day? Probably, Moore might have been going through something similar. However, he now got a grounding alert. The time has come for Michigan to lose in the race to land the $915k talent, Miller Moss. And guess where he is transferring to?

Jeff Brohm’s Louisville. This might get you like ‘REALLY!?’ But that’s the truth. The reason? “When it came down to it, coach Brohm’s pedigree stood out. He gets people to the NFL. That is really important to me. I feel like they are trending in the right direction…,” shared Moss. After all, after spending four seasons with the USC Trojans, Moss thought that Brohm’s program would be the right fit for his next destination.

In his third year with the program in 2025, Coach Brohm is going to repeat what he did for the first two years: getting a starting quarterback from the portal. Jack Plummer transferred from Cal in 2022, and in 2024, Tyler Shough joined the Cardinals from Texas Tech. For 2025, it’s going to be Lincoln Riley’s weapon at the Trojans: Miller Moss. Many coaches, including Moore, had their eyes on the most “coveted players in the NCAA transfer portal.” The No.10 overall player comes off with a strong resume.

The former USC signal-caller has thrown for 2,555 yards and 18 touchdowns this season which makes up to a completion rate of 64.5 percent. Some of his notable feats are that he led USC to a 6-6 record and a ninth-place finish in the Big Ten. And how could we just forget Moss securing a Bowl game appearance at the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M on Dec. 27?

But poor Moore! The ex-Trojans QB was his last hope to fill Michigan’s offensive void. After he declared for the portal, reports suggested that Moss was looking at Michigan as a viable option. Now, you may think: why get Moss when you have Underwood? Well, despite the hype around Bryce, we must not forget that the quarterback room can do with some veteran experience. Who better than Miller Moss, who was the QB2 behind the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams?

Did Sherrone Moore get a taste of his own medicine with Miller Moss's shocking decision?

Have an interesting take?

Miller Moss even showcased his skills when he played Michigan in a 24-27 loss, completing 28 of 51 passes for 283 yards ( three TDs). That’s way better than what Moore got out of Davis Warren and Alex Orji. But that dream of landing Moss to add QB depth to the program is gone for Moore.

Sherrone Moore to face a domino effect

Michigan’s favorable time has taken a pause it seems. Just before Moss chose USC over them, the Wolverines got hit with another blow. Moore’s QB Alex Orji opted to head for the exits rather than await his fate at Michigan. That’s probably because he had been faced with a backup role or position switch, and now it’s obvious that Moore should choose Underwood as his QB1. Now that Orji, too, had hit the transfer portal, the Michigan HC was left with a big problem to fix with no apparent solution.

Even before yesterday, Moore might have counted on Moss to commit himself to Ann Arbor. After all, he was hailed to be the jackpot for Michigan. That’s because, being with the Trojans for four long seasons, by now Moss is dripping in talent for the position. Plus, the former Trojan might have held the reins until Underwood would have learned the ropes. Well, that’s not the end.

As analyst Pete Nakos made the Miller Moss offer more enticing, “Sources have continued to tell me that there is a possibility that wherever Miller Moss lands, a USC package could follow him. That could include a couple of wide receivers.” Now, this might have been the dream concoction for someone like Sherrone Moore, as this would have made Bryce Underwood’s life easier and given him his own sweet time to take up the role. But maybe better luck next time!
