SEC championship fever is all over the place, and with each passing week, it’s going to be hotter. This season is Sherrone Moore‘s debut season as the head coach of Michigan and in his interaction with the media, he revealed his views on Sunday’s game against Fresno State. Although Michigan won 30-10, there were still some loopholes that they needed to work on, according to Moore. With their game against Texas approaching, the team needs to speed up and prepare for it. “It’s the tale of 10 guys, and if just one guy doesn’t do his job, the play fails,” said Moore while explaining prizing teamwork in the game of football.
According to Moore, after Michigan’s key player’s departure in the NFL draft, there is a lot on the shoulders of the new roasters who are playing the season first time as roasters. “We have a lot of talent coming back, but it’s about finding the right pieces to fill those gaps,” Moore stated. He also mentioned that the departure of senior players who were drafted into the NFL created a void, but it also presented an opportunity for emerging talent to showcase their abilities.
In his post-game media interaction, Sherrone Moore acknowledged that their defense struggled during key moments. “We had moments where we lost our composure, especially during critical drives.” He further explained that because of a lack of stability in the team, their opponent, Fresno State, was quite competitive till halftime, with a scoreboard of 16-10 in the fourth quarter. “We need to eliminate penalties and just play our style of football. We had a couple of penalties that can go either way, but we can’t have them,” Moore said, pointing at the need for control and discipline among the team.
