Who would have thought that the 45th Big Ten Championship winners in 2023 would undergo such an ugly fate this season? Look how the tables turned for Sherrone Moore and the Michigan boys. Forget the championship; the Wolverines’ playoff chances seem to be a distant dream right now. Now that Moore might have gotten the reality check, he no longer seems to run after the mirage. Instead, he focuses on the next season and has already found his goal. Want to know what it is? In a nutshell, the debut HC is making up for the sabotage done by the ex-HC Jim Harbaugh

Let me disclose the heartbreaking news to you. If you are a Michigan fan, you might need some tissues to wipe your tears, cause folks, the beautiful dream is over. While till now you must be still sniffing the sweet scent of the national championship, the smell has gone away in the Big House kitchen. Now the only smell that overpowers is the smell of MEDIOCRITY. Otherwise, Moore’s boys would not have lost to Dan Lanning’s Oregon on their own turf 38-17. Looks like the debut HC could already sense the disaster and had his plan B ready to host someone special for the weekend. Wondering who?

The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman four-star WR Derek Meadows was spotted in the Ann Arbor hood on Friday, November 1 afternoon. On this note, on the On3 recruits podcast, host Josh Newberg had one question for analyst Steve Wiltfong: “We know that Michigan, Notre Dame among others were heavily involved in his recruitment before he committed to LSU. Were you surprised to see Derek Meadows at Michigan this weekend?”

No, Wiltfong is not at all surprised since he had already cracked Moore’s big plan and fortunately or unfortunately, it has nothing to do with the playoffs. And here the analyst broke the news: “Michigan trying to add him amongst some other elite players for this stretch run as they make a run at what could maybe ultimately be a top-five class. They sit at number 10 right now in the on three recruit rankings.” Right now the Wolverines are at No.10 and have kept in constant touch with Meadows. However, even this rank has been no easy task for someone who had taken up the reins for the first time.

Sherrone Moore’s big moves ahead

When Moore had filled Harbaugh’s shoes, he knew that it was bound to come with big responsibilities. But hardly did he think that he would have to clear the mess and fix the whole roster since the ex-HC had left the program in a barren state. Before Meadows, it was the 4-star CB who had de-committed from South Carolina, Shamari Earls. Luckily, their effort did not go in vain and the maize and blue army was able to successfully flip Earls. Well, that’s not the end.

Seems like Moore got too carried away clearing the mess of the havoc created by Harbaugh. Maybe also because he had gone through one of the darkest times when his not one, not two, but THREE QBs turned out to be a big flop back to back. Now he is taking baby steps towards recovering from the trauma left by the QB trio Davis Warren, Alex Orji, and Jack Tuttle. Moore does not know how to rest and directly jumps into the race of flipping QB Bryce Underwood from the LSU Tigers. And you would be shocked to know the amount that the Wolverines have offered.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Sherrone Moore's $5 million gamble the desperate move Michigan needs to escape mediocrity?

Have an interesting take?

$5 million, yes, you read that right, FIVE MILLION! You must be wondering how could Sherrone Moore take the risk to shell out such a heavy fortune. Not to worry fans, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has got the Wolverines’ covered. He has offered to pay $3 million to end Michigan’s QB woes and help them land a top-10 QB. Looks like Portnoy’s had enough of the Orji and Warren show so far. Now Michigan will just have to wait till next year to reap the fruits of their debut HC’s sincere efforts.
