It’s the biggest night of Shedeur Sanders‘ football career so far. The 2025 NFL Draft. And guess who’s not in Green Bay, soaking in the spotlight? Yup, the Sanders crew. No Deion Sanders. No Shilo Sanders. No Shedeur. “Draft night, you’re not going to be able to run dog,” the former Buffs QB told his dad on We Got Time Today. Deion didn’t hesitate — “You got that right… I prayed about it, and I’m making a sacrifice for you and you.” Well, they got their own vibe going on. And it’s not just any vibe — it’s Prime Time style, but in split screen.

Let’s start with the ladies. Pilar Sanders and Shelomi Sanders. They’re throwing their own little bash. The mom of three hyped it up on her Instagram story on April 24, glowing after a shopping spree like she’s prepping for the Oscars. “It’s draft night,” she said. Then she prompted her company to repeat that and they complied. But her daughter has her own special message saying — “It’s my brother’s draft night.” That’s the energy. Yup, the general perception is that Shedeur Sanders will be a first-round pick.

Shedeur Sanders’ mom and sis are doing their own thing, and it’s a whole mood. You can feel the nervous pride bubbling out of Pilar. Years of criticism, pressure, headlines, and now, her boy’s on the verge of making history. No need for fancy venues. Family and vibes, that’s it. Just like the Sanders men. While the ladies posted up, Deion Sanders and the guys are holding it down in Boulder at the house. And man, they didn’t skimp on the setup.

Two massive screens, NFL teams’ draft hats lined up in order, slogans like Perfect Timing and Legendary covering the room. This ain’t your typical family room. It’s a branding masterclass and a draft war room rolled into one. This is peak Prime, calculated, flashy, and deeply personal. But why aren’t they at Green Bay?

Because Shedeur and Shilo are streaming the draft on Twitch. Forget the usual green room handshake parade, they’re pulling in fans in real time, just being themselves. We gonna be streaming the whole draft,” Shilo said. “Me and Shedeur are gonna be on Twitch streaming the whole entire draft.” But as always, people are wondering if that’s the real reason they’re skipping the attendance.

Will Shedeur Sanders be a Day 1 pick?

Can’t ignore the elephant in the room, can we? Why really aren’t they in Green Bay? Is it purely about being home with family? Or is there a little draft stock uncertainty mixed in? CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones seems to think there’s a possibility that Shedeur Sanders may not hear his name called on Day 1. “I think that there’s a very good chance that [Shedeur] is not selected on Thursday night,” he said. And of course, it would hurt anyone’s ego if that were the real case.

Still, there’s real buzz. Shedeur Sanders could go as high as No. 2 to the Cleveland Browns or he might still be a first-round pick sliding to the Pittsburgh Steelers at 21. Either way, he has a shot at making history as the first CU Buffs QB to ever get drafted in the first round. That’s big. So yeah, no green room. No awkward hugs with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Shedeur Sanders redefining draft night traditions, or is he avoiding potential disappointment in Green Bay?

Have an interesting take?

It’s a family thing doing it their way. And come what may, Shedeur Sanders has the full support of his camp.
