The Colorado Buffaloes fans might be left at the edge of their seats. After all, their favorite QB Shedeur Sanders’ 2025 NFL Draft plot is coming up with a new chapter, every single day. There was a time when the Buffs QB saw himself as the top pick. However, he soon got a grounding alert as his draft stocks started to drop. From No. 6 as projected by Field Yates to No.22 pick in CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli’s mock draft.
Things started to look a little better with the New England Patriots name looming around the corner for the Buffs QB. Just when the fans could celebrate the news, the Cleveland Browns entered the chat. All thanks to the Emmy award winner for the new twist.

What’s cooking for Shedeur Sanders in the NFL mock draft?
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. believes Shedeur is the best quarterback prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft. Now this definitely has been surprising. After all in his February mock draft, he saw Deion Sanders’ son slipping to the No.7 pick to be drafted by the New York Jets. This time he hails him as the No.3 pick by New England. Daniel Jeremiah doubled down Kiper’s projection. However, here Medium writer Big Mike comes up with a new update.

On March 20, he tweeted, “Just a friendly reminder that Shedeur Sanders will be drafted by the Cleveland Browns in April.” Now this is not the first time that Cleveland is linked up with the Buffs QB. Back in February, in Fornelli’s mock draft, he did not see him as a top-five pick. This season, Kevin Stefanski and Co. have two picks, Round 1 and Round 2, as No.2 and No.33 pick. Even though Big Mike did not reveal the pick, the quarterback position in Cleveland opens up with Deshaun Watson’s never-ending woes with injury. Already the Browns come off as an irresistible option. They gave their star pass rusher, Myles Garrett, a $40 million per year contract. Now they are planning to invest $2 billion in a new domed stadium just outside the city limits.
With this, the Buffs QB might get a modernized platform before their first Super Bowl. However, there lies a big roadblock in the Shedeur x Cleveland collab. That’s none other than Papa Prime. Now come on, we all know how protective of a father Deion is. So much so, he is the one to pave his sons’ path to the NFL. And in Coach Prime’s list, the Browns are not an “ideal” program. By “ideal,” he meant a well-run franchise with a sound track record of developing rookie quarterbacks. Yes, Cleveland does have a troubled history. Since the franchise returned in 1999, they have started 40 different quarterbacks. Sadly, only two quarterbacks have played a full season for the Browns. Now Deion has his good reasons to be sure why Shedeur might not land in Cleveland. Now what about the fans?

The QB debate heats up about Shedeur Sanders in Cleveland among CFB fans
The Browns are desperate to get a solution at quarterback. As Todd McShay stated, “You need to win at some point real soon to save your job … So, how do you solve the crisis? They have a crisis at the quarterback position … Deshaun Watson is the worst contract given to an individual maybe in the history of sports. So how do we manage?” Maybe Shedeur carrying the ‘elite talent’ is their only solution. But the fans come up with different narratives. Going by Mike Band’s mock draft, the Browns are going to land Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter as their No.2 pick. That’s when a fan wrote, “It’s not happening.”
So, in that way, Cleveland will be left with the No.33 pick to land a QB. In that case, they will already be blacklisted by Shedeur. After all, he will no way go so late. Do you remember his reaction after Yates’ No.6 projection? The Buffs QB said, “That’s crap, bruh. I ain’t going sixth.” On that note, a fan had a question for Big Mike, “With the 33 pick?”

So far this offseason, Cleveland has been linked to a few different veteran names. Russell Wilson is at the top of that list, while Joe Flacco and Kirk Cousins’ names are also doing rounds. So, even Dan Patrick is not that confident about Shedeur being the No.2 pick. Thus another fan sounded underconfident, “At 33?” Yet another Cam Ward vs. Shedeur Sanders debate. Already, due to the Buffs QB’s off-field shenanigans, the Miami QB has got that edge. Thus a fan took Ward’s side in Cleveland’s case too. “No he wont. It’ll be Cam Ward. And he’s going to be so good. QB1.”
An elite rushing attack and defense was the reason this squad was on the rise in Cleveland. The Colorado Buffaloes dual-treat earlier has shown his interest with Browns’ wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, cornerback Denzel Ward, and cornerback Patrick Surtain II. Thus a fan commented, “It will be Hunter.” If Shedeur dares to don Cleveland colors, will Deion Sanders revoke his “favorite son” status?
