Shedeur Sanders is the richest college athlete yet, one of the least successful. Most of his glories come from outside of the gridiron instead of his team, which continues to stumble to date. The Colorado Buffaloes had a terrible 2023 season with a 4-8 record and lost a major chunk of their credibility when they lost to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on 8th September. Regardless of how his team suffers, Shedeur Sanders’ bank account continues to witness a rise, which could overtake the valuation of Bronny James sometime soon. Bronny James, who is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, has a valuation of $5.9 million in total, as per On3, indicating that Shedeur isn’t too far behind when it comes to the dollar bills.
The Colorado QB has a lot left to achieve on the field. Many analysts considered him to be one of the top 3 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. But so far, his performance has been isn’t worthy of a second-round pick either. Standing on a high tower of expectations from the Buffs’ fans, Shedeur will need to pull his socks up in leading his team to more victories this season. That said, he’s golden on the financial front with a $5.4 million valuation.

Shedeur ranks number 1 among the top 100 NIL athletes and has a combined 2.5 million followers through social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X. Additionally, he became the first college football player to sign an NIL deal with Nike, which in turn, skyrocketed his financial numbers even more so. Furthermore, the QB also has partnerships with brands like ‘Beats by Dre’, 5430 Alliance, Google, Topps, Urban Outfitters, Under Armour, and even Mercedes-Benz among others. The 22-year-old is doing really well for himself, seeing as how he’s a millionaire already but when it comes to the sport, how better is he faring than Bronny James? Fortunately, some sports analysts have an answer to that question too.

In an episode of the ‘Undisputed’ show, the hosts were discussing in length the futures of both Shedeur and Bronny as the latter made the move to the NBA, only a year after playing in the NCAA. Whereas as for Shedeur, he’s playing his last and fourth year of eligibility for the Colorado Buffaloes this season. Moreover, Deion’s son has had more success and experience in the world of college sports as compared to Bronny who got a slight taste of it and left without finishing the pie.
Bayless claimed that Shedeur is the “best QB in the country” and said, “Shedeur is not just the best QB in that conference but he’s the best QB in the country and he’s going to be the first pick in the draft and I think he’s going to be really really good in Pro Football.” These high words of praise for Shedeur by Bayless were followed by a less enthusiastic opinion for Bronny James which was, “He needs to learn how to create more. He needs to better his shot. Will he ever be a star? I don’t think so. Just his size and some of the other things about the way he plays.” Thus, both athletes are gifted in their own ways but it is evident that Shedeur is doing better than Bronny at the moment despite being still being in college.
