Does Shedeur Sanders' support for Travis Hunter redefine what it means to be a true teammate?

On Saturday, at Boulder, Colorado, college football’s hit pair Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter created magic in the game against Cincinnati. Sanders throwing touchdown passes to Hunter helped the Buffs score a 34-23 victory over Cincinnati. “Travis is the best football player in the country,” said head coach Deion Sanders after the game. But besides Coach Prime, there’s one more guy who’s hyping up Travis Hunter and is no one but his son, Shedeur Sanders. Let’s learn what he said quite a few times, exaggerating Hunter’s Heisman Odds!

Shedeur Sanders and his mate Travis Hunters were the stars of the show yesterday, playing and winning a 34-23 against Cincinnati. With that, their 2025 NFL draft chances are also getting stronger. However, after hearing what Shedeur Sanders is saying, it looks like he is backing Hunter all the way!

In a media appearance, Shedeur revealed, “This week, I recently had the flu going into practice, you know, like one day, you know. So it was tough out there getting the chemistry back with everybody because you lose weight, you lose strength, and you lose a lot of things dealing with that. So I’m just thankful that you know that the team we all were in was one, and we all leaned on each other to help the commercial, independent, right?” He said.

Without worrying about his health, he thought about his whole team. It showcases Sanders’ determination toward his team and his friend Hunter, for whom he didn’t even care to take a rest. In another such incident, when Shedeur was asked about his Heisman run, he took Hunter’s name.

It is what it is. I don’t look too deep into that. I just want Travis to win, of course, and that would be almost like I won because I throw the ball. Yeah. So, with Travis, Travis is the best player in college football, hands down. And I’m excited for him to win it. That’s truly what would make my day right there. Just seeing him on there, knowing the sacrifice that he took, you know, to make all this happen, come here, and, you know, no matter how much money he was offered and all that crazy type of stuff, I heard that, he told me. I’m like, Yeah, bro, you’re good for him; you are a good brother.

Despite being in the same race, Shedeur Sanders wishes Hunter to win! It says a lot of things. However, Hunter is already a great two-way star in the college football world, kudos to Shedeur for acknowledging that. It takes a lot from a man! And after watching the Buffs’ game against Cincinnati yesterday, both the guys played over the top.

Travis Hunter  & Shedeur Sanders’s power pack game against Cincinnati

Saturday’s game was a treat for the eyes of Colorado fans. Sanders put on an exciting aerial show, completing 25 out of 30 passes; he threw for 323 yards. You know what? Sanders made a record as well. He completed the first 15 passes he threw and became the first in one program’s history to start a game! Isn’t it fascinating? Right after recovering from the flu, as we discussed earlier.

Besides that, Travis Hunter caught nine times from 153 yards, on top of the last-moment touchdown grab in the dying seconds of the first half. With Score at 17-14, and around 11 seconds to go, Coach Prime’s team had a chance to may be get one (maximum two) plays or settle for a field goal to extend the lead to 20-14. But, Shedeur and Travis were having a night, easily piercing through any defense the Bearcats offered. And to no one’s surprise, Shedeur went for the kill, throwing a loopy pass along the sidelines to Travis, who caught it for a 34-yard touchdown. The score? 24-14 to the Buffs to end the half.

The Buffs had the ball to start the second half, but wasted the opportunity with a three and out. However, Prime Time’s defense didn’t let it affect the proceedings of the night, forcing a three and out of their own. In the next drive, thanks to a combination of masterful run and pass game, the lead was extended to 31-14, and the Bearcats were all but out of the game.

The Cincinnati game has earned the Buffs a bowl entry as well! They are currently holding a 6-2, 4-1 Big 12 record and are now eligible for a bowl game. After this, Coach Prime said, “We’re on a wonderful journey. We know the direction we’re going.” Coming after a wild win over Cincinnati, next up, the buffs are preparing for the upcoming game against Texas Tech. For that, they have a lot of time given a bye week before November 9th.
