Is Travis Hunter truly the star, or did Shedeur Sanders' touchdowns seal the Buffs' victory?

The Colorado Buffs made a remarkable victory against Utah in today’s showdown with a score of 49-24, and it took team effort in all phases of the game. Prime Time’s team made some special plays, and, at the same time, they were also sloppy at times, leaking turnovers on offense. That gave Utah a chance to bounce back in the 4th quarter, and one more turnover could have cost the home team, but instead, the Buffs’ defense forced one of their own. Shedeur and his boys took over and finished the game without any further hiccups. Naturally, in such a victory, there are many heroes, and two, in particular, shined. However, Deion Sanders was full of praise for one of them.

Well, after the game, head coach Deion Sanders praised two-way player Travis Hunter for his gameplay, saying, “Travis is the epitome of a football player. He loves the game; he practices hard.” However, it overpowered quarterback Shedeur Sanders with impressive three touchdown passes for the Buffs, which gave them an edge in the game. The Bleacher Report on their X shared this handle.

Not only did Shedeur Sanders score three touchdown passes, but also finished his game, completing 30 out of 41 of his passes for 340 yards. This would have been a key factor in raising his Heisman odds, but Deion Sanders’s praise for Hunter came in at a very wrong time, as it basically took away Shedeur’s thunder.

Fans appreciating Deion Sanders Travis endorsement

Well, the Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders Heisman trophy race has been one of the hot topics of college football for a long time, and when you have two deserving contenders from the same team, the competition becomes more intense. And there is no doubt that Shedeur and Travis both are very strong players with an impressive track record, but Travis has an edge over him in terms of the rankings in the Heisman odds. And Coach Prime’s praise will only hype his status up in the race. Even this fan reflects on the same emotion, saying, “Huge endorsement for Travis Hunter.” It’s hard to contradict the fact that Travis Hunter is one of the most deserving players to win the Heisman this year. Even after suffering an injury, the guy made an impressive comeback and pulled down Boise State cornerback Ashton Jeanty from the top position. That’s why this fan said, There’s nobody close to him for the Heisman trophy now.”

Moreover, even Travis Hunter showcased an exceptional performance against Utah in today’s game, completing six catches for 108 yards with a touchdown against their defense. If that goes without notice, then it will also be an injustice to his gameplay. And knowing the fact that Deion Sanders considers him his son, this privilege is not in comparison; it’s a mere representation of Coach Prime’s belief in him. As this fan said, “True leaders recognize greatness!” and Hunter is a great player. But will this make him a Heisman favorite? The answer is simple: he is already at no. 1. Hope this fan got it clear: “Is Travis Hunter the Heisman favorite?” Now this debate between Travis and Shedeur will only end after we get our ultimate Heisman winner; till then, keep rooting for your favorite player.
