Is Deion Sanders' magic touch turning Colorado into a powerhouse, or is it just a lucky streak?

The scene at Jones AT&T Stadium was pure chaos. Texas Tech fans filled the stands, ready to throw everything they had—tortillas, chants, plenty of that Texas accent, and noise. Well, a wild evening for both sides! But the fiery evening took an unexpected turn when the young OT Jordan Seaton stepped onto the field, stayed cool, and single-handedly stopped the Red Raiders’ defense. He made sure the Red Raiders couldn’t even smell the scent of Shedeur Sanders.

Colorado’s Heisman-contending quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, wasted no time showering Seaton with praise. It only took one worded nod. After the game, Shedeur took it to X and simply commented “Legendary” under Jordan Seaton’s appreciation post. After all, Seaton didn’t just survive his first big test—he bullied the entire defense. With 54 pass-blocking snaps, Seaton allowed zero pressure, posting a stellar 83.9 pass-block grade. In an environment as brutal as Jones AT&T Stadium, this wasn’t just a brilliant performance; it was a statement.

The showdown between the Colorado Buffaloes and Texas Tech ended with the Buffs delivering the resounding 41-27 victory, and Shedeur himself had a Heisman-worthy night. He ended the game by completing 69% of his passes, 3 touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, and adding almost 300 yards to his name. But the night’s victory wasn’t just about Shedeur’s and Jordan Seaton’s heroics. In a heartwarming turn of events, all of Coach Prime’s sons scored touchdowns. Quarterback son Shedeur, safety son Shilo, and of course, fan-favorite Travis Hunter all found the end zone.

With a record of 7-2, the Buffs are now sitting in second place in the Big 12 standings, which saw them climb to 18th in the AP poll from 21st. Some are even rallying behind Deion Sanders for ‘Coach of the Year’ for the magic he’s worked with this squad. Fans are buzzing about a potential conference title, and the stadium was a wild scene after this latest win.

Texas Tech fans throwing tortillas, bottles, and whatnot at Colorado players

Is Deion Sanders' magic touch turning Colorado into a powerhouse, or is it just a lucky streak?

Have an interesting take?

The Texas fans have a history of going crazy when things don’t go their way. Texas Tech fans, known for their infamous tortilla-tossing tradition, were fuming when the game started to slip away. The Buffaloes got a taste—quite literally—of the Red Raiders’ antics.

The Heisman frontrunner, Travis Hunter, took one tortilla from the ground and stuffed it inside his pants. Coach Prime, ever the showman, addressed the madness with his signature humor. “They were throwing everything but my mama at me,” Deion quipped. “So we try to prepare our young men for that. Thank God tortillas … are soft, it’s not hard, but when they start doing the water bottles and those other objects, that’s when you gotta alarm the officials.”

Despite the chaos, Deion Sanders gave credit where it must be due. He appreciated Texas Tech’s head coach Joey McGuire’s attempt to settle things down. “I’m thankful. I think Joey grabbed the microphone. He said, ‘Man, I apologize.’Said, ‘No, I had to do it last week. I had to do the same thing. I had to grab the microphone and talk to our students as well.'”

In the end, Colorado’s win wasn’t just about Shedeur’s touchdowns or Jordan Seaton’s impressive stats. It was a testament to grit and focus under pressure and a reminder that even in the most hostile environments, legends—both established and emerging—can rise.
