Julian Lewis roasting Shedeur Sanders—Is this the new age of friendly banter in sports?

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffs, is known for his remarkable strength and versatility on the field and his fun-loving nature off the field. However, fun can sometimes take a different direction. In a recent event, Julian Lewis teased Shedeur about his age, which even took him to surprise. But what made him do so? Let’s get into it.

Well, age is just a number, but sometimes this number becomes a topic of joke. As the season is right here, Colorado Buffs star QB Shedeur Sanders and Carrollton High School’s top-ranked recruit Julian Lewis appeared in a recent conversation on the 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders. He shared an Instagram story post of their fun-filled chitchat. Here, they were discussing what would be Julian’s age going to college, to which Shedeur Sanders said he was 19 going to college. Shedeur is now 22, which appears to be a significant number for both of them once they learn Julian’s age, which is 16. Following the discussion, Lewis playfully roasted him by saying “You old bro” to which even Shedeur agreed and said, “I am old bro, but have a lot of skin in the game right now”.

Both Shedeur and Julian were seen being light-hearted amidst the stressful season. The conversation seemed quite random and upbeat. However, calling 22 old seems quite silly. Even fans can’t digest Julian’s dig. The comment section exploded with multiple comments saying “Being 16 and calling a 22-year-old, old is diabolical work”. However, they were having a witty fun banter going on between them. Also, age can’t define your capabilities when you are a player like Shedeur Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders was a key reason for the Colorado Buffs season-opening victory with a high margin of 31-26. Shedeur Sanders threw the football for 445 yards with four touchdowns. He also went for a solo interception, through towards LaJohntay with only 1:41 time remaining. The move was quite risky, but the result was exceptional. Even LeBron praised Shedeur, saying “Shedeur to Hunter for 6! Going to be seeing and hearing that a lot this season, I bet!” Even after certain drawbacks last season, Shedeur charisma was unbeatable throughout the game.

Last season was not good for Shedeur Sanders in terms of gameplay as he was sacked more than 50 times, giving him the tag for the highest in college football. However, in his match against North Dakota State, he was only sacked once, which is like an enormous improvement. This time he stayed in the game and made great throws despite getting heavy hits. Shedeur’s performance was beyond excellence. His presence can surely make the Buffs clear playoffs this time. What are your thoughts about his upcoming match? Let us know in the comments.
