Shedeur Sanders’ gotta sit this one out cause this is Travis Hunter’s world and we are all just living in it. To say that Hunter is a phenom would be an understatement. While it is true that against the Huskers, we didn’t see him shine that well. When it came to the Rocky Mountain Showdown, Hunter showed exactly why he was still one of the best players in the entire CFB world. Breaking a 20+-year-old record, it ain’t no wonder why the people of Colorado have given their verdict regarding Hunter and his future.

Nikki Edwards shared a photo on X on September 22nd, just moments before the Bears vs Buffs game. “Travis Hunter Heisman banner just dropped,” Nikki wrote in the caption of the post. In the picture, we can see a ‘HE12MAN’ banner hanging. Not even surprised. This guy managed to pull 100 yards, grab 2 TDs, and 13 catches against the Rams. That ain’t even the best part. The most amazing play came when Hunter was on the defense.

Rams QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi had called Hunter “too small” and, well, Travis did not let that slide. Intercepting a pass from Nicolosi, Hunter managed to run past the defenders and return the ball 38 yards. It was like watching Neo dodging the bullets back in the Matrix. What Hunter managed to pull against the Rams was last done 26 years back. It ain’t no wonder why the Colorado crowd has already marked him as the Heisman winner.

If we shift our focus to Shedeur, that guy has been doing great as well. While it is true that the Huskers game made him rage and leave the field early, the Rams game with proper backing from the Buffs’ offensive line proved that Shedeur is capable of doing a lot when is not under constant duress. With 4 touchdowns and 310 yards under his belt, Shedeur was a sight to behold.

Still, as we said before, this is Travis Hunter’s world and we are just pawns in it. However, as the Buffs hit the turf against the Bears, there are some concerning factors we gotta talk about. Deion Sanders and his offense are in the right spot now, but the Bears can make it rough for the boys.

Can Travis Hunter win this one as well?

If there’s one team in CFB that has the perfect answer to stopping Hunter’s runs, it would be Baylor. This team currently has the best pass defense in college football. The Bears have only allowed 75.7 passing yards per game during their last 3 games.

This makes things quite interesting. Buffs thrive on rush and quick plays by Hunter and Shedeur, so the Bears are going to make things quite confusing for the boys. Not only that, Deion’s defensive line is in a tricky spot as well. We got an update a few hours back that DL Chidozie Nwankwo would be out of the game. This is a big hit for the D-line.

Under Robert Livingstone, the defensive line has grown tremendously, going from allowing 35 yards per game back in 2023 to barely reaching 30 yards per game in 2024. While this progress is as good as it comes, we still don’t know how the match can turn around. Tune in and make sure you grab your popcorn.
