Did Shedeur Sanders choke under pressure, or was it just an off day against Nebraska?

The Colorado Buffaloes seem to be stuck in a loop of incidents pulling them down. While they started well, it took them only another game to reach the bottom. And guess who received the biggest blows? Had to be their QB Shedeur Sanders. Just when Deion Sanders’ son thought that he would focus on the next game, life just threw another curveball! And definitely, it has to do something with his disastrous performance against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. But if you think that’s the only cause, then you are mistaken. Shedeur’s got to ride out the storm dad Deion brewed!

After their powerful feat against North Dakota State, hardly did the Buffs expect QB expect that he would be the center of attention, but for the wrong reasons after the next game? Shedeur, who has been hailed as the hero before the season started, gave up a bad pick-six in the first half. Even though the player confessed “that wasn’t intentional,” he is now facing the consequences. There are signs that Shedeur’s latest feat has been enough for people to lose their trust in their QB. After getting a snub from the PFF College Mock Draft, CBS Sports is back with their version of the mock draft.

On September 12 they released their top QB picks for the 2025 NFL Draft. And poor Shedeur! This time too his luck did not favor. According to CBS Sports’ famous analyst Chris Trapasso, the top 10 names for QB picks will be Carson Beck, Cam Ward, and Miller Moss.

And forget the top-10, while Jaxson Dart is predicted to get the 14th overall pick and Garrett Nussmeier as 16th, even in that list Shedeur failed to earn himself a spot. And what did Trapasso have to say about his decision? “But in trying to attempt how the NFL will view him, actions on the sideline in the loss to Nebraska…He’s not so outrageously talented that clubs will gladly accept distractions from him,” claimed the analyst. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Chances of Shedeur Sanders to bear the blow of old grudges

Deion and CBS Sports, on an earlier occasion, had ended things on a bitter note. Just like Shedeur got snubbed by the sports media platform in the Mock Draft, Coach Prime too got low ranks in terms of the coaching rankings by the same name. However, things took an ugly turn when, on August 9 during a press conference, Deion straightaway refused to answer a reporter with the “CBS” tag.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Shedeur Sanders choke under pressure, or was it just an off day against Nebraska?

Have an interesting take?

The reporter involved in the controversy was none other than Eric Christensen of KCNC. However, one of Deion’s supporters and On3 analyst, Philip Dukes, came up with a totally different take, justifying the Buffs HC’s reaction towards the reporter. To the analyst, Coach Prime has made peace with the fact that he will always have to prove people wrong and has already developed the “thickest skin.”

“So if you want to know why Deion Sanders reacted the way he did, there was an abuse of trust between the two, and I’m sure that will be expounded upon later on, but as far as what I can say, it was way deeper than a ranking,” claimed Dukes. Is Trapasso’s move to drop Shedeur Sanders from the mock draft a cleverly masked act of revenge for Deion’s earlier run-ins with Christensen? Let your opinion pour in!
