Now that the 2024 college football season has dropped the curtains, fans have their eyes on the next big event – the 2025 NFL Draft – this time at the home of the Green Bay Packers at the iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown. Big day for Buffs fans – as they might be already keeping their schedules free for Day 1 to witness their hero Shedeur Sanders landing as one of the top picks. But looks like there’s a problem. Back in January, Coach Prime made a major revelation on The Rich Eisen Show saying that his son Shedeur will not travel to Green Bay for the Draft. Now this definitely is heartbreaking. But not to worry folks, something better lies in store for you.

What if you get to celebrate one last time with the Buffs QB? Coach Prime had hinted at Shedeur’s plan to celebrate with Colorado’s coaches, staff, and students. While we did not get any confirmation from Shedeur himself, the Buffs QB finally broke his silence. On the 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders podcast, host Darius Sanders questioned him about his draft plans. To which Shedeur replied warding off the fans’ worries. He stated, “We most likely do Colorado or Dallas we ain’t really decided like fully yet but yeah we plan on doing it like event thing and where it’ll be fun. It’ll be more family, friends, be able to come. Because the only thing we going to the draft is just like I want to spend those moments with my people.”

He continued, “It’s gonna be so expensive you feel me.” The distance from Boulder to Green Bay is 1111.4 miles. And the Buffs QB is in no mood to spend heavy bucks on the travel. Rather he would prioritize celebrating with “a team of people that has helped me allowed to get to where I am now.” Even though he will not be present during the draft, looks like he has found his favorite NFL home.

Will Shedeur go against Deion Sanders to pursue his NFL dream?

The race to land Shedeur is going to be neck-to-neck. Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns all have shown their interest in landing the Buffs QB. But among all of his suitors, Shedeur seems to have a soft corner for one of them. That’s none other than the $5.15 billion NFL giant Cleveland Browns.

On February 17, ESPN Cleveland shared a clip of Shedeur chatting with his mates over a hearty meal. That’s when Deion’s son revealed the team with whom he plays in Madden. Now this comes off as a clear hint. After all, being a top-5 pick, Shedeur revealing his clear favorite says it all. But what made Shedeur pick the Browns in Madden?

The Buffs QB stated, “I love how they move around, bro. I like the set-up.” Now this is just one occasion when the athlete openly expressed his favoritism towards Kevin Stefanski’s program. On an earlier occasion, Shedeur confirmed that he would be in Cleveland first for his pre-draft circuit. “Browns. I have the Browns, then the Giants. That’s the only two right now,” the Buffs QB sounded all confident. Now this might be because of two reasons.

First, Shedeur sees himself as the No.1 pick. The Browns hold the No.2 overall, as for the Giants, they have No.3. Second, now that Myles Garrett will be out, he would instantly become the face of the franchise if Garrett is gone. However, Deion Sanders might come off as the thorn in Shedeur’s Brown’s plan. Why so? Deion had made it clear about his son not joining certain programs. And Cleveland is never an “ideal” program for Coach Prime as they have a troubled history when it comes to quarterbacks. That’s how Shedeur will have to disobey Papa Prime’s order to pursue his dream team. But will he? Only time can tell.
