We’re almost there. The Buffs’ ride with its two superstars is set to end with the Alama Bowl. Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter were the main reason why millions got excited to watch Prime Time’s team every Saturday this season. We can write long-form pieces about each of their performances, and they rarely disappoint. Even in Week 14, Travis Hunter played a huge role in the Colorado Buffs’s victory over Oklahoma. A major part of the Buffs’ 52-0 win over the Sooners can go to Hunter for his performance.

However,

his best friend and on- and off-field, Shedeur Sanders, just revealed an insight behind Hunter’s over-the-top game. Talking about their conversation before the Oklahoma game, Shedeur said, “I told him during the week I said, Bro, if you don’t score, you have to see me about that so he scored; he wants to see me about that. Basically, you know, when you put fear in somebody’s heart, they tend to act out of character. So, that’s why he’s so cold; of course, he knows when he gets off the field, he’ll handle his business.”

Well, with an infused fear or not, Hunter was extraordinary in the game against Oklahoma. He caught 10 passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he snagged his fourth interception this season. It helped that his quarterback also had a historic performance. Shedeur completed 34 out of 41 passes for 438 yards and 5 touchdowns. Not bad, yeah? No wonder he won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

With Shedeur’s award having arrived in Colorado, the wait begins for Hunter’s. After missing on the Jim Thorpe shortlist (an award given to best DBs), Colorado No. 12 has his eyes on the Heisman award. And why not? You’ll see random fans who don’t even have an iota of knowledge ridicule Hunter’s claim for Heisman by mocking his snap count.

Well, it’s not just the snap count, is it? It’s the fact that Coach Prime’s two-way star can potentially be an All-American on both defense and offense. If you think you have seen that level of generational talent, stop kidding yourself. Get out, go for a walk, gather your thoughts! This doesn’t mean Ashton Jeanty’s run is any less historic. However, we don’t have to undermine one to propel another. Do we? Who’s getting it?

Travis Hunter or Ashton Jeanty?

Although Colorado’s season is nearly over, the question remains the same for Deion Sanders star Boy, ‘Travis Hunter’. Where does he stand in the Heisman race? So, the college football’s top-ranked players will visit New York this weekend to cheer for the one final dude who will win this race. After months of hard work and patience, the officials have sorted out two players as the clear favorites. Colorado’s Travis Hunter, along with Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Travis Hunter's dual-threat prowess make him a legitimate Heisman contender despite the skeptics?

Have an interesting take?

Meanwhile, former NFL legend Shaun Alexander, who cracked the Heisman game back in his day and was the seventh finalist in 1999, shared his view about the most deserving player who should win this one.

Travis, so many plays. It is hard to even think that a guy can cut off half the field when it comes to passes in the secondary and still be that guy all over the field. But definitely in the red zone; he’s pretty marvelous, man. So I lean more towards Travis, just because I’m amazed to see a kid have that many snaps and be pretty solid through the whole game. It’s pretty solid through the whole game. It’s pretty amazing.”

The one thing that should have Alexander talking about Hunter is his offensive prowess along with his defense. He has 92 receptions for 1152 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns, while he has contributed to the Buffalo’s 9-3 record this season. Meanwhile, Jeanty has completed 2497 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns in 13 games he played. So, the trophy is set for Saturday, December 14. Any idea about who can win? Although the picture is pretty clear!
