Woah! The 2025 NFL Draft is knocking at the door. And guess who has all the spotlights on himself? Of course, it’s the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. Deion Sanders’ son has a list of NFL giants whom he can tick off as his next home. Out of the many, the two programs that have picked up the buzz are the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints. Both of them made it a point to woo Shedeur, dropping their base for Colorado’s special day on April 4, that is, the Pro Day. Post which the Buffs QB faced the media opening about his feelings. Meanwhile, turns out that only one of the two programs has passed Deion’s quality check, and that’s the $4.4 billion giant.

The D-Day arrived when Shedeur and the other Buffs could put up their best performance in front of the scouts. The Buffs’ QB may have many suitors, but he still has to convince NFL giants. In his Pro Day workout, Sanders completed 58-of-63 pass attempts, with one observer noting that three of the incompletions looked like drops. But at the same time, he did leave a mark with his deep shots, having a good arc on the ball. Even in the case that Shedeur missed the shot, it’s not by more than a foot or two. So, as soon as he finished putting up his feat at Pro Day, analysts were waiting for their chance to get some clarity on what was going in his mind. And Shedeur sweetly reciprocated.

On April 4, Shedeur’s media coverage was uploaded by the BuffsStampedDotCom podcast. There came a question, “How would you say your traits would have been to the Kellen Moore offense where he’s coached quarterbacks like Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, and recently Jalen Brooks?” Kellen Moore and the Saints hold the No.9 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This marks the HC’s first season in New Orleans. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator for Philadelphia. He coordinated the Eagles to the NFL’s No. 7 scoring offense (27.2 points per game) and No. 8 total offense (367.2 total yards per game) in 2024. So, Shedeur is all praise about him: “I think he’s a great coach.” The quarterback admitted that he had no idea how powerful Moore was.

“I watched him a little bit in college, we’re so young. I didn’t know that who he was in college. But then when I looked him up and did the research and all that, I’m like dang! He did everything I’m trying to accomplish in life. So he knows the recipe.” Moore attended Boise State from 2007 to 2011, where he put together an accomplished career, going 50-3 over four years as a starter. Not to forget, he was the first Heisman Trophy finalist in Broncos’ history in 2010. Amidst developing a soft corner in his heart for Moore, Cleveland too comes off as a frontrunner in winning Shedeur’s heart. But they did it through his tummy.

One of the reporters asked, “How did your dinner go last night with the Cleveland?” Shedeur quickly replied, “Good.” Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski joined the Buffs’ QB for dinner at his favorite steakhouse, which was followed up by a sauna visit. How do you sum up the evening well spent? “Oh, I got too comfortable here,” shared Shedeur. The Browns own the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft and are candidates to select a quarterback, despite landing Kenny Pickett in a trade last month. But turns out Deion did not give a green signal to Cleveland.

Deion Sanders is rooting for another black and gold fam for son Shedeur in the NFL

When it comes to his professional life, Shedeur hardly does anything without seeking approval from his dad. Now, that the Saints have an ideal NFL coach for Deion’s son, they might get a clean shit from the protective father. Now the question arises: Would Deion be happy if his son landed in New Orleans? And it’s a ‘YES’ from the Hall of Famer. He kicked off his answer by giving one major reason that he could see Shedeur playing for Moore in New Orleans.

“I like their colors. I like the city. I like the food. I like the people. I like the possibility.” Of course, the statement was followed by Deion’s iconic confident grin. Now, it’s no secret that both the Buffs HC and Shedeur have a penchant for anything black and gold. However, here comes the catch. The Saints hold a No.9 pick. So, a potential top-three pick dropping all the way to pick No. 9 would be their dream scenario. But that’s not going to happen. After all, they have teams like the Browns, Giants, and Jets ahead of them. If Shedeur falls all the way to the Jets at No. 7, it’s hard to imagine they’ll pass on him. In that case, Deion will be way too upset.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Shedeur Sanders follow his heart to the Browns or trust Deion's nod to the Saints?

Have an interesting take?

After all, since the beginning, in Coach Prime’s list for Shedeur Sanders, the Browns are not an ‘ideal’ program. Now, what’s this ‘ideal’ parameter? A well-run franchise with a sound track record of developing rookie quarterbacks. Going by Cleveland’s history, it’s way too troubled. Since the franchise returned in 1999, they have started 40 different quarterbacks. Out of them, only two played a full season for the Browns. Will Shedeur’s next uniform match dad’s dream?
