Shedeur Sanders has some advice for the future Memphis QB after his bold statement. Before the Julian Lewis hype, Colorado had No. 3 QB Antwann Hill Jr. of the 2025 class. The 6’5 200-pounder committed to Deion Sanders and the Buffs last year in October with plans to reclassify to the 2024 class. But just one month later, after deep talks with his family, his decision changed.
In November, Hill decided to remain in the 2025 class and de-committed from Colorado to explore more options. As a coveted prospect who threw for 2,732 yards and 31 TDs this past season, the Houston County High School star incited the interest of top college football programs. He eventually chose Memphis over Florida and other schools in June. But before his college career commences, Shedeur has some advice to hold Hill’s horses.
Antwann Hill Jr. joined Shedeur and Bucky on 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders on August 22 to drop a major revelation on Travis Hunter. Prodded by Deion Jr. on his first play with Hunter when he threw against the two-way star, Hill admitted, “I ain’t scared.” Shedeur laughed it off, but he also added, “Personally I ain’t going at Travis.” This is where the projected NFL first-round pick imparted a valuable piece of advice for the HS standout who’ll be seeing his first college football action in 2025.

Whether Hill wanted to hear it or not, Shedeur dropped his insights from his experience in college football. He said, “In college, I feel like you make more business decisions to where it’s like ‘bro, I’m not gonna let myself get out of this game early. Let’s start off with a completion and let’s get in that mode.’” Considering the senior college football QB was the most sacked college football QB last season, this holds weight as a reckless adrenaline rush could lead to problems that shouldn’t be there in the first place. So, it leaves us with the question if Shedeur is going to play safe in his final college year.

Is Shedeur Sanders really the leader CU Buffs need, or is he just riding his dad's coattails?
Have an interesting take?
Shedeur can’t afford to risk his draft stock with bad plays this season. He’s already predicted to be a potential 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and a top 3 QB to enter the 2025 NFL draft. But according to a recent mock draft two days back by The 33rd Team, he’s going to the New York Giants with the first overall pick with a trade-up.
The chances aren’t nonexistent. Shedeur may have had a rough past season where he ended up getting sacked 52 times. But still, he managed to complete 69.3 percent of his passes and secured 3,230 yards and 27 TDs. Besides, Coach Prime is making sure that adversity doesn’t repeat itself by revamping the Buffs O-line with some elite talents like Jordan Seaton and Khalil Benson. This could be a season of pressure for the Buffs QB, but as someone who withstood 50+ sacks with perseverance, nothing is going to stand in his way of being the best version of himself.
