The Miami Hurricanes are one of the few five teams that hold unbeatable status so far. Miami Hurricanes enter week 10 at 9-0 and 5-0 in conference play. After beating the Duke Blue Devils 53-31, the Hurricanes now stand at No. 4 in the first of five weekly rankings. Now every Miami Hurricanes fan is waiting for the December 8 playoff list to come. Miami holds a strong chance to be at the top of all the playoff teams this season. However, quarterback Cam Ward and the Hurricanes need to pause as college football experts are calling out silly mistakes in their defense against Duke.
On the November 6th episode of College Football Addiction, speakers JT Pittinger and Blake Ruffino pointed fingers at the Cam Ward lead team. “Ironically, they’re 130th in the country, and explosive plays are allowed, okay? So look, I think they’re the best offense in the country. I think their front seven is absolutely ridiculous. But the problem is you can’t allow teams like Duke, who was 109th in the country, and let your offense do what they did. I’m sorry, you just can’t,” Ruffino said.
“So you know you’re talking about Miami. I’m just going to throw that out there to any Miami fan that’s listening. I still love your offense. It’s your secondary that’s getting. Think about this CFP that came out with statistics: the worst team in college football on missing blows or blown assignments in the secondary. Wait till Dillon Gabriel or just any of these playoff teams get a load of that Howard. Jeremiah Smith, running back there, so I agree now that they’re still a really good team. They’re still the toast of the ACC.”

Is this true what everyone is saying? The Miami Hurricanes have a strong chance to be at No. 4 in the final CFP rankings. The one thing on which their success is based is Cam Ward. yeah, that’s what the current buzz is about. Without Cam Ward or the offensive line, Miami’s defense is performing very poorly.
Ruffino gave an example of the Hurricane’s last game against Duke, where its defensive mistakes were quite evident till the second quarter. After which, they bounced back and secured a win. But remember their ACC play against Virginia Tech? They barely secured a 38-34 win. fans were holding their breath for the last five minutes of the second half. Till then, Virginia Tech held a 21-14 lead, and with the last two minutes left, Ward scored a 57-yard touchdown drive to seal the deal. That’s the one thing the Hurricanes need to work on if they want to play in the playoffs. Ahead of a crucial game against Georgia Tech, it’s high time the Miami Hurricanes take Ruffino’s criticism seriously.

A really good football team. Hands down the biggest challenge we’ve had this year up to this point,” said Georgia Tech head coach, Brent Key, while talking about facing no. 4 ranked Miami hurricanes.
