It is difficult being Shedeur Sanders! The 2025 quarterback class isn’t considered to be as strong or competitive as last year’s. If that wasn’t bad enough, reports about Shedeur’s draft stock plunging started to emerge days before the draft. But the QB wasn’t about to let things slide: “Well, everybody is trying to make my stock drop right now. You know just how life gets. But it is what it is. It’s fool’s gold. It isn’t real.” Real or not, it did little to help his draft stocks. In his latest report, Tom Pelissero quoted thirteen league personnel, and the bottom line was: The NFL’s still a meritocracy, and that Shedeur is not a day-one starter.

For instance, an unnamed AFC coordinator reportedly pointed out, “When things go wrong, it’s not his fault. He takes a sack, he blames the O-line.” Another longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was, and it can’t get more raw than this, “the worst formal interview I’ve ever been in in my life. He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. … But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good.” An NFC scouting director revealed how the young QB might experience a big culture shock in the NFL locker rooms. “No one cares who your dad is. You’re going to have to end up fighting through some adversity,” he stated. If it wasn’t the character criticisms, it was his size (6-1 1/2, 212), lacking in arm talent, and his limited athletic profile that projected him as a gamble more than a hotshot.

If history is anything to go by, Pelissero discussed former pro QB Brian Brohm. Coached by his father during high school before his brother took over at Louisville, Brohm was riding high halfway through his college career. Many thought he would make it as the top gun in the draft. But as you might have guessed already, he wasn’t one. Instead, he entered the NFL as a second-round 56th overall pick by the Packers. The gamble, as they saw it, was that he’d benefit from fleeing the comforts of family. The reality was far from it: third QB on the depth chart, cut the following year, and started just two games for the Bills before taking an exit from the league altogether. That’s probably not the same fate Shedeur is slated for, of course. He needs some chiseling, sure. But does that warrant as much doubt about his flaws? Mom Pilar says no!

Taking a firm stand against those critics, she shared a promotional video of Gatorade featuring Shedeur Sanders throwing some target balls. The caption read: “The Nation’s No. 1 QB – UNDENIABLE, UNMATCHED, UNSTOPPABLE! In a landscape filled with promising talents, one quarterback stands alone at the pinnacle. From coast to coast, across every division, no quarterback has demonstrated the combination of ELITE FOOTBALL INTELLIGENCE, SURGICAL ACCURACY, and UNSHAKABLE POISE under the unthinkable amount of pressure like my son Shedeur and we all know it and have witnessed it. Say Amen!

“While others indeed have talent, they falter under the spotlight that isn’t his pressure but his fuel. It sharpens his laser-tempered instinct, feeding a storm-forged calm that delivers with vein lined voltage and cold-blooded clarity. This makes the weak unconsciously uncomfortable. His decision-making mirrors that of seasoned NFL greats, dissecting defenses with the precision of a surgeon. Under relentless pressure, he delivers—consistently, confidently, and without compromise.

“This isn’t just about statistics; it’s about impact. It’s about a quarterback who elevates every program he touches, turning challenges into triumphs and skeptics into believers. To overlook his prowess is to ignore the very essence of excellence. He doesn’t just play the game; he redefines it! @shedeursanders is not just a top prospect—HE IS THEE #1 QUARTERBACK IN THE COUNTRY. PERIODT! Selah,” her lengthy caption read.

Well, the 2025 NFL Draft is a tense time for the Sanders. In fact, Pilar hinted at it in one of her previous Instagram posts, where she wrote, “This draft has me this stressed.” But despite the stressful time, the mother has been posting about Shedeur, Shilo, and the strengths they possess.

Days ago, when Colorado retired Shedeur’s No. 2 jersey, Pilar captured that moment and shared it with her followers, too. But the whole jersey retirement thing didn’t sit well with some people. For instance, 9News reporter Scotty Gange had shared how retiring Travis Hunter’s No. 12 made sense, considering he won the Heisman, but “Shedeur seems like a forced plus one here.”

Gange might have a point here. What’s interesting is that while Shedeur’s jersey was retired, none of the players from Colorado’s 1990 National Championship have received a similar honor. Well, this, combined with the strong opinions of coaches that Tom Pelissero presented in his report, makes it a tough situation for Shedeur Sanders.

NFL coaches are unhappy with Shedeur Sanders!

Experts still kept a hold on themselves when giving their reviews on Shedeur’s flaws. However, one particular assistant coach took a lot of liberty. He told NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero that Sanders was “[the] worst formal interview” he’d ever been to in his life. “He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. … But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good.” More comments about Sanders in Pelissaro’s article indicate that Jaxson Dart is regarded as a better option.

Another NFL executive implied that Sanders was pushy without reason. “He wants to dictate what he’s going to do and what’s best for him. He makes you feel small.” Then, there was an NFL GM who stated that Shedeur looked less athletic without significant arm talent. With this article coming out just hours before the draft, who knows how much further down his stock is going to slip?

Sanders was looking to go to the Steelers, Browns, Saints, and even the Giants. When it comes to Pitt and New York, Jalen Milroe can give him a strong fight. Regarding the Browns or Saints, we wonder where he failed so miserably. There’s no way that that particular team will look to draft him.
