For the Colorado Buffs, Deion Sanders has finally crafted the right recipe. The boys are now standing on a 5-2 run and this is the best the team has ever done since 2018. It took 6 years and the “Prime Time” glam to make Colorado go from nothing to one of the biggest programs in the country. Deion Sanders has switched up the game for this season and one of the ways through which he has done it is by hitting the transfer portal and picking out the elites to build up the Colorado Buffs D-line and the O-line.
However, there is one unfortunate problem. EDGE Nikhil Webb Walker was one of the perfect stars for the Buffs D-line. Coming in as a transfer from New Mexico State, this 3-star prospect had 15 solo tackles along with 3 sacks back during the 2023 season. But when the Buffs hit that turf and with 7 games over, Webb was nowhere to be seen. Why is that? Well, back on X, JaKiTruth shared a clip from the Colorado Buffs room where we can spot Webb and Deion Sanders talking about what happened behind the scenes.

“This battle is not yours. It’s the Lord. Talk to us about it,” Coach Prime mentioned. “One morning, I woke up with a bump on my chest,” Webb mentioned. After giving it around 2 weeks, the bump was still not going away, so Webb had to hit up a doctor. A biopsy and a surgery later, it was found that Webb had lymphoma. Webb mentioned, “It is very treatable.” All it will take are some rounds of chemo and our boy will be as good as new.
Now, this was the entire reason why Coach Prime’s defensive line didn’t see Webb on that turf. It is true that if this guy was on it, maybe Deion and Co. would’ve had a much bigger chance at winning against Huskers or Kansas State. However, what matters now is that Webb recovers well. Through proper treatment, Webb will be back on his feet and ready to get down and dirty for the Buffs.
“Just keep winning,” Webb noted. Well that, Coach Prime will. The entire scene has switched up so fast that it is astonishing. Going from a 4-8 season to this has to be one of the biggest achievements for Deion Sanders. Coming up next, the boys will be up against the Bearcats and this game will be the final nail.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Deion Sanders' magic lead the Buffs to the playoffs despite Webb's heartbreaking absence?

“Let’s attack this opportunity.” Coming off of that Arizona win, the Buffs O-line and D-line are in the best shape possible. These guys, despite losing Travis Hunter yet again, managed to wipe the floor with Arizona. That big 34-7 win has to be one of the best games under Buffs’ belt, other than the UCF win.
The Buffs have the 16th strongest offense in the entire FBS with a solid rating of 82.6. But can they win over the best-scoring defense? The Bearcats have managed to hold back their rivals at only 17 points average in every game. That is not an easy task. If we compare the Buffs D-line against this; despite the magic Robert Livingstone has done, the defense still has allowed 30 points on average.
You can see the difference, right? The question now is, can Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr. pull through? Against Kansas State, Shedeur showed everyone that he doesn’t need Hunter to make big plays. Dude brought in 3 touchdowns and 388 yards in a game where Coach Prime had completely lost his WR depth. That says a lot.

For Hunter, it feels like he has finally recovered from that shoulder injury. He has the Heisman on his mind so it is for sure he will try to pull off something flashy. One more day and we will find out if Coach Prime and Co. can crack the playoffs or not.
