Alexander, who played college football for Alabama for four years, strongly believes in his former team and defends them against allegations about their performance in the upcoming season. He was seen backing Alabama in The Zach Gelb Show. When the host questioned him about his expectations from the team his year, and if they will make to playoffs this year.
He immediately responded, “YAA, Alabama is Alabama. I think like you. People like Oh, what’s going to happen? Well, you know we had 12 national championships before Saban got there. We are not saying that 20 some that we got now that we ain’t feeling good about it. You know we like Alabama still Alabama like you know. Like you go through history. And there is, you know, there’s Bear Bryant and there’s Gene Stallings. You know what I mean, there’s just there. There are just great coaches and great players. And that’s our tradition. Some people will leave. Some people will stay. Alabama is going to be Alabama.”

While some players and fans may worry about what lies for the Crimson Tide, the former running back has made it all clear with his strong opinions that Alabama will still be a great program, even without Nick Saban’s command.
Alabama’s dominance before Nick Saban
Alexander helped Alabama earn their first-team All-American honors in 1999 defending Alabama. He brings a crucial point to the debate and highlights that Alabama football was dominating long before Nick Saban took power.
