Sherrone Moore must have thought only Jack Tuttle could save the sinking ship of the Michigan Wolverines. But Tuttle’s game against Illinois added more burden to it. Tuttle’s passing game was just awful; he even had an interception. Overall, Tuttle finished 20 out of 32 passes for 208 yards. After the game, not only Moore but Tuttle himself was unhappy with his performance. “Overall, offensively, it was not good enough at all. Jack can’t turn the ball over. When we’ve got guys open, we’ve got to complete those passes. Just got to be better,” Moore said after losing 7-21 to Illinois.
But if Moore knew he was just igniting the fire he was going to receive in the next few days, he would not have said that. From Michigan fans to college football analysts, everyone was so upset with the senior player. James Yoder of the Michigan Football Report even said, “
Why do you think that if someone was on the college football team for seven seasons and has started three games?” If an insider of Michigan said something like this, you can imagine how his haters would be reacting!ADVERTISEMENT

Finally, the boss had to intervene with all those trash talks and shut the mouths of the trolls supporting his boys. On the recent episode of WXYZ-TV Detroit Channel 7,’ the host asked Moore his take on the ongoing Michigan controversy after they lost against Illinois. Moore replied by saying,
“Yeah, disappointing and definitely hurt coaches, hurt players. But for me, I was looking at the players and how they feel. And you know, watch them with their heads down. I want to, want them to pick their heads up and understand, like, Okay, we got a 24-hour rule. We got to get over and we got to go to the next one because we have a big game coming up.”
Moving forward, Moore described how he wants to see his boys: “Think the framework simplifies, makes it easier for our guys, and maybe not do more things go through the weeks and help them just be more confident. Everything that we’re doing that the defense can present to us and then get back to having fun. You know, those guys sometimes look on their faces and they’re down, like, just, just have fun. Enjoy it. Because I think that’s what we’ve done over the past few years. And look to continue to keep continue to progress.”

With all that, Moore just wants his boys to take a chill pill because they can’t play the next game under high pressure. With that, let’s look at the other deets from this game.

Is Sherrone Moore’s QB battle finally over?
Since the start of the season, Moore has not been lucky with his quarterbacks. First, he trusted Davis Warren, but after watching his blunders in the game against Arkansas State, Sherrone Moore switched to Alex Orji. Although Orji led them to a win over USC, his stats were not good at all. 12 passes for 32 passing yards for a 27-24 victory was not a green signal for Moore.

That’s when he moved ahead with Jack Tuttle; however, Tuttle’s contributions to both the losses for Washington and Illinois made his position questionable. “We’ll see as we practice this week,” Moore said, avoiding the QB question. With every other QB failing Moore’s expectations, it looks like he can vouch for a young player as well.
