Is Jalen Milroe's rushing game enough to silence his critics, or is it just a fluke?

Jalen Milroe‘s entire 2024 season journey has been awkward. He was quickly put on a massive pedestal when he managed to grab 21 points against the Dawgs in the first quarter. However, it didn’t take fans long to take him off of that pedestal as well, right after the Vandy game. A struggle to win against South Carolina came next, and then there was a loss to the Vols. Jalen Milroe kind of lost almost all credibility and his stats supported that fall. The dude went from averaging a 70 completion percentage to barely hitting 60. However, then the LSU showdown happened, and the rest is history.

This guy turned into a true dual threat against the Tigers. Instead of passing touchdowns, which every QB does, Milroe went for 4 rushing touchdowns for Bama, and boy, oh boy, was that game a spectacle for Kalen DeBoer and Co. With the redemption arc kind of completed, Ryan Williams comes in to hammer the final nail into the coffin of all the allegations against Milroe. “But to be honest, he is a better person than people give him credit for,” Williams mentioned back on the All Facts Podcast. It’s kind of wild that just a few days ago, Mike Gillespie had directly claimed that if Milroe does decide to return to Bama for the 2025 season, it won’t be good for the team.

However, it looks like the good old Milroe everyone knew from the Nick Saban days is finally back. And what’s more amazing to see is how Milroe and Williams have become such a massive duo on that turf. See, fans had taken a shot against Milroe that he was putting Williams’ future in jeopardy.

Back during the Vols game, Milroe only targeted Williams with his passes. Fans pointed out that the QB had no care about the pressure which the 17-year-old freshman could face. But have you ever tried to look at this from a different angle?

Yeah, we do agree that relying on Williams all the time ain’t effective, but what if Milroe has immense trust in that kid? This is something even Ryan Williams mentioned on the All Facts Podcast. “He’s partially the reason I’m in the position that I’m in,” Williams had mentioned.

Let’s roll back to the Dawgs game. While Bama did take a massive lead in the first quarter, Georgia quickly pulled ahead in the 2nd half of the showdown and it almost felt like Kalen DeBoer was going to lose this game. But then came the massive 75-yard pass from Jalen Milroe.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jalen Milroe's rushing game enough to silence his critics, or is it just a fluke?

Have an interesting take?

Williams was the one to catch that bomb and take Bama to the win against Kirby Smart and Co. The faith Milroe had in that throw and Williams’ capability of turning it into a touchdown is all one should need to understand the bond between these 2 guys.

Back on LANK, Milroe sang quite the praise for the 17-year-old. “And that’s what i saw in him that was special is that he wants to be great. He wants to do the right thing for the football team as much as possible,” Milroe mentioned while talking about what made Williams such a massive asset for Bama.

Even Ryan backed up and let everyone know that Milroe has always been there since day one to push the WR to do his best. “i was trying to race him to the facility, and he still there. Even on days where i got there extra early, his truck already there. I’m like, ‘He must be staying the night’. There ain’t no way…So, i’m glad he’s my quarterback,” Williams had mentioned. If all of this ain’t enough to make you understand why 2+4 JUST WORK, then we don’t know what will help.
