College football has entered its ninth week! We saw some nail-biting games and impressive performances. But the Ohio State Buckeyes did not live but survived their last games. Yes! After losing to Oregon, Ryan Day and his squad were looking to bounce back. They did! But it wasn’t their best. The Buckeyes won against Nebraska 21-17 after an interception.
According to Yahoo Sports, Ross Bjork, Ohio State’s director, announced that Ohio State University has raised approximately $20 million 2024’s football team. You heard it right! This funding is said to be part of their plan to be a leader in the changing world of college football recruitment and support. Johnny Bullet, co-host of Ohio State football, shared his opinion on the university’s $20 million investment after a narrow victory.
In the latest video of Ohio State Football: Chat Sports + Scarlet N Great, Johnny shared his frustration about Ross Bjork and Ryan Day’s decision that isn’t working well, especially considering the money spent. “When you cost us $20 million, just go blow them off the ball. Yeah, I don’t like being gimmicky.” Is Ryan Day’s job in danger? Because after Ohio State’s recent victory, he has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Even Johnny questioned the same, “Do you get rid of Ryan Day?” expressing his frustration, feeling that Ohio State should have been in a stronger position to compete with elite programs like Alabama and Georgia. He mentioned, “I think here’s the thing for you. Am I the fool? Because I thought this was, I thought Ohio State reality check was on the heels of schools like Alabama and Georgia, just right there just needed a few things, and then all these moves this offseason, I was like, Okay, we’re there, ready to do that thing.”
Johnny believes that if any other head coach had Ohio State’s current team and resources, they would be seen as strong contenders for a national championship. “Now we have the money; NIL’s new find solved it. Maybe we had a rocky start, but not anymore. We were just out there, just between the foundation and the society; we were just… I mean, Caleb Downs, are you kidding me? And Judkins—we’re getting stuff we don’t even need!”

Let’s see what Day said after the disappointing victory.
Ryan Day praises Nebraska’s effort and recognizes Buckeyes’ struggles
Even after winning yesterday, Ryan Day and his staff are facing backlash. Day is worried about his job security. Yes! It sounds strange, but that is true. After a close win against Nebraska, Ohio State’s chances for the College Football Playoffs are uncertain. Now you would wonder, with a 6-1 record, why is Day facing challenges? Even Day is aware that Ohio State and the entire CFB expect a lot from him.

To be fair, before the game started, everyone was predicting a comfortable Buckeyes victory. Yes, Ryan Day’s team was coming off a loss, but that was a 31-32 loss against the current no. 1 ranked team. On the other hand, the Cornhuskers had lost by 7-56. Going against a defense short on confidence, Ryan Day’s offense just couldn’t press the issue after starting well. A lot of three-and-outs, a poor run game, and an inefficient game from Will Howard almost cost them the game. If not for some poor decisions by Matt Rhule, going on some 4th downs rather than settling for a field goal, it would have been a nervy finish (it still was).
After Ohio State narrowly defeated Nebraska, head coach Ryan Day acknowledged the effort put forth by the Nebraska team. “Give Nebraska credit and the job they did,” Day added. “They had a hard time the week before. We knew they were going to come out and play us really hard.”
