Ryan Day’s successful 69-10 record in Columbus landed him a seven-year contract extension that extends till 2028. He earns an annual salary of $10.2 million as the fifth-highest-paid coach in college football. Per Front Office Sports, Day sits behind Georgia Kirby Smart, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Texas’s Steve Sarkisian, and USC Lincoln Riley as of January 2025. And that’s not all.

Ryan Day also gets $5.69 million per year for promotions, media, and PR duties. OSU also pays him a $1M retention bonus each year. The trip to the CFP also added to his income. Day received a playoff bonus of $350,000 for reaching the semifinals. And if he wins the National Championship game against Notre Dame, he’ll be adding a whopping $1 million bonus to his current $66.5 million net worth. 

Such is the income of the head coach of one of the most prestigious college football programs. Despite the lack of information, there’s no doubt that Ryan Day is living his best life with his family as Ohio State’s HC.
