Sherrone Moore‘s gotta be doing the boogie-woogie at his home right now. B1G has been on a run this season. 4 different teams made a cut into the playoffs, and while Hoosiers and the Ducks got pretty much roasted and kicked off, the Lions and the Bucks remain. This opens up a certain interesting opportunity for Michigan. See, Sherrone Moore managed to bring back the Michigan Man from the brink of death with that 3-point win over Ryan Day. People were out there with pitchforks shouting “Fire Ryan Day,” and that flag-planting scene led to whole new legal trouble. “This is the softest thing anyone has ever done.”
You can’t save the damned, but hey, 2 birds, 1 stone for Sherrone Moore and Co. Remember the $140+ million fund that is reserved for the conferences? A team from a conference makes a cut, and the conference gets paid? Yeah, that. So, it looks like James Franklin and Day are doing Moore a big favor. “$40 million dollars in bonuses has been paid to the Big Ten from the college football playoffs,” Adam Breneman points out.

The rules are quite simple. $4 million for each team that made it to the 12-team bracket. Another $4 million if they crack the quarterfinals, and finally, another round of $6 million if they make it to the semi-finals.
Now, for the B1G, it was one he-k of a year. For the bracket cut, the conference got handed $16 million. Follow that up with another $12 million for Penn State, OSU, and Ducks making it to the quarterfinals. Finally, another $12 million for the Bucks and the Lions in the semi-finals. Money, money, money. Must be funny. In the rich man’s world. That is all we can hear right now.
However, now you might be wondering how the h-ll is even Michigan reaping the benefits. Yeah, well, the conferences distribute the money to the schools, so UM is getting a cut. Now, do they need it? Well, after that $10.5 million deal, we think they are well off, but hey, a little more money never hurt anyone, right? But imagine this. What if you didn’t have a conference and were an independent team? No cuts. No halves of anything. You get the full payout…

The Fighting Irish are rich
“I’ll not rest till I have me gold.” If you did not read that in an Irish accent, then we are very disappointed. Marcus Freeman truly is the new rockstar of CFB, huh? Notre Dame came out of nowhere this year. They pretty much dog-walked over Indiana.
Then proceeded to beat down a crippled Georgia team. But hey, we are here to talk about the money cause Freeman and Co. are $14 million richer. They are in the semi-finals, and being an independent team, they won’t have to wait for a slice of the pie. The whole pie is for them.

This does open new opportunities for ND. Not only will the money be useful for the NIL scene, but it will also allow them to improve their overall program. Now, we just gotta wait and see what they pull against Penn State.
