Right before the 2024 kickoff, Ohio State Buckeyes HC Ryan Day got into hot water. All thanks to his five-star cornerback, Na’eem Offord. As per the resorts, the player who had verbally committed to Day’s program back in February is ready with his all-new move. And guess what? Offord has no intention to officially commit to the Buckeyes.

Instead, the CB will be visiting Oregon on the same day the Buckeyes vs. Ducks game is scheduled. While the Ohio State fans still had some lingering hope of Day bagging victory, their aspirations went down the drain. Now, they have raised red flags regarding the player to HC Day.   

Recruiting battle intensifies for Ryan Day’s CB 

On3 analyst Chad Simmons had been keeping an eye on Offord for quite a long time now. And going by his research, the CB intelligently curated his visits within seven days- Ducks on June 14 and the Buckeyes a week later on June 21. And how could Dan Lanning just let go of the opportunity to have an edge over Day? The Ducks HC is now guarded up to flip the Ohio State commit when the Buckeyes would step foot in Oregon on October 12. 

Offord is being hailed for a reason. As per the 247Sports reports, the CB is from A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Going by the rankings, for the 2025 class, the player holds the position of No.2 cornerback and No.6 overall. For the 2025 class, the Ducks have 15 players committed and are ranked 11th. It’s evident why Lanning has been eyeballing Day’s lineup. After all, the Buckeyes have the No.1 overall class. And here the fans came up with a watch-out sign for the Ohio State HC.    

Doomsday predictions for Ryan Day from Buckeyes fandom

Fans are skeptical about Offord’s next move. One of them erupted in a mix of shock and outrage as the CB is on the verge of flipping his commitment from Day’s program that would be threatening for the HC, “Ryan Day I dare you to choke.” Another fan has made up his mind to witness the doomsday now that Day is about to meet another important setback, “Ohio State going to choke in another big game again. Ryan Day is simply incapable of winning the important ones.”

“Well this can’t be good,” prophesied another fan who believes that Day will have to pay heavy costs for Offord’s incoming move. However, some fans are still living in the hope of boosting the Buckeyes to come up with a dominant performance and turn the Ducks into dust, “Ohio State better stomp them!”

Another fan has lost all hope and now suspects Day’s ship going down, “it’s over for them.” Time for Day to drop a masterstroke and keep Offord out of the Ducks’ nest.
