Is Richard Sherman right about Travis Hunter's future as a cornerback over a wide receiver?

The man who cried wolf. The entire Richard Sherman and Travis Hunter drama was weird. Travis Hunter, with his dreams of staying a 2-way star in the NFL, got Sherman calling the entire thing “bland” and boy oh boy, did people lose it. Heck, the entire thing offended even an easy-going dude like Hunter. However, Travis Hunter did make Sherman switch teams really fast after the play he made against Baylor.

So now, Sherman is joining Hunter on the Travis Hunter Show to finally provide proper clarification regarding the controversial remarks. “It’s just because there’s so many dudes playing receivers. But there are very few Corners that can be as athletic have the ball skills,” Sherman mentioned. The thing that Sherman wanted to point out with his initial remarks was the fact that there are way too many WRs at this point.

While Hunter is a solid WR, he could work out as a CB better because that position is lacking players who have the same skills as Travis Hunter. “And I mean, you look at the national football league right now. Even the best Corners, only a few of them getting books,” Sherman added. This is why Hunter as a CB makes sense, according to Sherman.

With the defensive plays that our 2-way star has managed to get in, he looks like quite the beast as a cornerback. Take the Rams game. The Rocky Mountain Showdown was a sight to behold. Hunter, on the defense, managed to intercept a pass from Rams QB and return the football up by 38 yards.

If that wasn’t enough, this guy also sealed the deal during the Baylor game overtime with a fumble. This got the Buffs the W and naturally made Hunter the Defensive Player of the Week. So Sherman ain’t wrong when he says that Hunter would rock it as CB in the NFL. However, the thing to focus on right now is how well he can do when Deion Sanders faces his biggest challenge this weekend.

Travis Hunter against the world

You CANNOT take the Wildcats lightly. Blimey! Kansas State now stands in the No.18 spot on the AP polls. On the same 4-1 run as well, the Wildcats won’t be making this easy for Deion Sanders and Co.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Richard Sherman right about Travis Hunter's future as a cornerback over a wide receiver?

Have an interesting take?

The key element here would be Deion’s defensive line. Hunter is already an important part of it and from what we have seen him get done in the last 3 games, this Hunter is going to make the Wildcats sweat. However, the advantage that Coach Prime has going into this showdown is full access to the defensive starter.

Shilo Sanders is coming back, and Deion will keep Carter Stoutmire in the game as well. This will enhance the already efficient defensive line that Robert Livingstone has created. With Hunter as the cherry on top, Coach Prime could win this if the boys don’t let things get over their heads. Still, this is college football. Anything can happen here.
