The Colorado Buffaloes received a word of advice from an experienced NFL veteran! When you’re a Buff player, you get the opportunity to hear from some of the best NFL stars, thanks to the influential Deion Sanders. Ahead of their Rocky Mountain Showdown with CSU, Coach Prime brought a prominent figure to the CU Buffs meeting to give a pep talk.
For Deion Sanders and Colorado, a win against their in-state rival is mandatory, especially after last game’s crushing defeat in the hands of Nebraska. Playing against Colorado State last season, they triumphed 45-35 in a double overtime win garnering an average of 9.3 million viewers. But they can’t dare be complacent about what’s mandatory and Aaron Donald voices that.
As is seen from a YouTube upload by Thee Pregame Show Network on September 14, Aaron Donald made an appearance to the Buffs in a pre-recorded video. The retired NFL DT first apologized that he wasn’t able to join them live due to a hectic schedule. Then he went on to inspire the Buffs saying, “Start this week at practice. What you do on the football field, what you do in the family, you got to put the body working to get the outcome you want. You practice the way you play.”

Aaron Donald stressed the importance of hard work, saying, “You got to work. Nothing comes easy. You got to sacrifice a lot.” From sacrificing hangouts with buddies to playing video games, he gave his own experience as an example of how he managed to have an illustrious NFL career. The Super Bowl champion played 10 seasons in the NFL and is considered one of the greatest defensive players of all time, recording 543 total tackles, 111.0 sacks, and 24 forced fumbles. Are the Buffs going to heed his advice on pushing your limits during practice before their CSU showdown?
Colorado feels the pressure to win against CSU
Both Colorado and CSU are 1-1 into the season now. The Rams lost their season opener in a shocking manner as they fell 52-0 in the hands of Texas but they were able to dominate North Colorado in Week 2 with a 38-17 win. But their upcoming game in Fort Collins is going to be an epic rivalry clash where the Buffaloes lead with a 6-game winning streak since 2015.
While the Nebraska loss suffered by Colorado has been an obstacle, former CU Buffs HC Gary Barnett stressed on the importance of winning the upcoming CSU matchup. He said, “I don’t know if our guys know how big a game this really is… This has got to be turned. We have to make this a game because this is a must-win for us.” On September 15, speculations can take a break once the teams head out to the field to face each other at Canvas Field.
