The Presidential Race is making a pit stop in Tuscaloosa and will witness the clash of the giants between Alabama and Georgia. The former POTUS, who held office from 2017 to 2021, is aiming to return and preside over the chair once again. The pressures of the presidential race have seemingly overwhelmed him and will now be blowing off steam in one of the most high-stakes games of the current season. Interestingly enough, Donald Trump has had a bitter and strained relationship with the NFL, including a heated back-and-forth over lawsuits, but when it comes to college football, the former President’s passion is true and full of sheer enthusiasm. Now, he’s looking to revive his passion by likely attending the Alabama-Georgia game.

The Star-Spangled Banner is coming to Alabama for the game against the Georgia Bulldogs on 28th September. Since this is such a pivotal time in the U.S. presidential elections, Donald Trump is being speculated to grace the Bryant-Denny Stadium to enjoy a good old-fashioned game of helmet clunking and football. This would lead to a lot more security measures for the fans to get into the stadium than before, but it will be beneficial for the overall growth of the Alabama program since the rise in the audience will help in their revenue.

As per a tweet on X, “Schedules can change, of course, but per football sources, @realDonaldTrump plans to go to Bryant-Denny Stadium to see the @AlabamaFTBL vs. @GeorgiaFootball game on 9/28. ” Seeing as how Georgia versus Alabama is one of the most electric match-ups in the history of college football, it would make sense that the former U.S. President would pick this game to mark his arrival. Furthermore, there has been an instance where Trump came to watch the showdown between Alabama and LSU, something which Nick Saban greatly appreciated.

Nick Saban spoke about his admiration for Donald Trump

Trump, while he was still president, attended the 2019 SEC West game between Alabama and LSU at the Bryant-Denny Stadium. Unfortunately, the men in Crimson failed to put up a show and lost to the Tigers by a score of 41-46, a close defeat. While some fans mentioned how Trump’s presence in the stadium had something to do with the loss, Saban was more than happy to hear the news of his arrival in Tuscaloosa.

Before Trump arrived at the stadium, Saban was heard saying, “Well, it’s an honor, I think, that the president of the United States would be interested enough to come to the game. I’m sure we’ll do everything we can to welcome him.” Though Saban is not the head coach anymore, it will be interesting to see whether Kalen DeBoer greets Trump with the same hospitality, but it could still alter the outcome of the game. This will be an interesting example of the saying, “Politics and sports don’t mix” and yet, both teams will give it their all to be the leading contenders for the SEC title.
