The CFB is booming, with teams gaining strength to defeat one another in a fierce eighth week. However, in the NFL, the Las Vegas Raiders are working hard to improve their dismal winning record. Their humbling 20-15 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the 2-5 Raiders have been torn between choosing to lose the season to improve their Draft pick the next year and avoiding losing. Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders’ encounter with Mark Davis sent Raiders’ fans into a state of terrified shock as a cry of fear echoed through the crowd.
Well, on October 4, during Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals, social media spotted an informal conversation between Shedeur and Raiders’ owner, Mark Davis. Both of them were seen shaking hands in the released footage following the raiders’ victory over the New York Liberty. However, it was not so casual. It is clear from the video that there was a sense of suspicion during the meeting. “How are you doing?” Davis, a fan of the young quarterback, questioned Shedeur with warmth. In addition, he said, “I have been following you. I watch all your games.” Despite being innocent in this instance, it suggests that Shedeur might be chosen for the Raiders quarterback position, which infuriates fans. And to vent their annoyance, they turn to social media.

The Raiders are accustomed to the QB dilemma. The QB crisis was a recurring theme in Antonio Pierce’s team even before Aidan O’Connell was forced to leave the field because of an injury last Sunday and before Gardner Minshew II, who was benched for putting on a terrible performance. Hence, their previous setbacks have only made them desperate to find a rapid solution for a brighter 2025. Although choosing Shedeur doesn’t seem reasonable for Raiders’ fans and a fan commented, “I’ll trade you MHJ for Crosby. Then you can have a pair of useless nepo babies who aren’t worth a s***.” The criticism extends beyond just this point.
Fans’ debate on Shedeur Sanders as pick
The Raiders are reportedly looking to acquire a signal-caller and may have a chance to select one of the best prospects in the class as they do not currently have a QB of the future on the roster. That is why Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur, has been linked to Las Vegas a lot and he keeps establishing himself as one of CFB’s top passers. But Raiders fans are not ready to accept him as a draft pick and a fan commented, “F*** that nepo baby and his showboating daddy.”

Additionally, when the standout quarterback for the CU Buffs performed for the Raiders scouts, he was spotted speaking to the camera. Given his outstanding play, he is anticipated to be selected in the top five of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, he had the mindset of “Tell the Raiders I’m chilling.” After seeing such behavior, one fan wrote, “Be careful… with that attitude you might end up with Deion as your coach and his other son also xD.” Such behavior infuriated other fans as well and another fan added “Weird thread, shadeur looks pretty good. Only downside is the attitude but kid is a baller.”
Shedeur is unquestionably an outstanding player. In a victory over North Dakota State in his 2024 season debut, Sanders recorded 445 throwing yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. In addition, Sanders outperformed Kansas State by completing 34 of 40 throws for 388 yards and 3 TDs. With 16 consecutive completions, he also shattered the CU record. However, his subpar showing against Nebraska raised doubts about his abilities. The discussion is still ongoing. “If the Raiders waste their first-round pick on Shedeur, they deserve the results,” a frustrated fan wrote after this. So, Raiders fans’ concerns about the team’s potential quarterback selection can now be addressed during the recruitment process. Be patient until then.
