“Second trip he’s led Texas to the playoffs so they’re ready to run him out of town”. Such is the fate of Quinn Ewers. We agree. The entire injury arc this season wasn’t fun. From oblique to ankle, Ewers has been a ‘chick magnet’. Attracting the wrong kind of chicks, for sure. But does it all hold a candle to what he has done for the program? There is a reason why Steve Sarkisian is so in love with this guy. Yes, he choked twice against Georgia, but the Texan offense wouldn’t be the same if Quinn Ewers wasn’t here. But then again, his NFL roadmap is bleak. “I don’t know if this guy’s physically capable of standing in there and taking shots at the next level,” is a comment you don’t wanna see before the draft…
….And this brings us to what awaits him post the finals. “Ewers has received a $6M offer to return to College Football and enter the Transfer Portal,” On3 pointed out on X. This is a blessing in disguise for Ewers (if it is true). But a curse for Sark. Throwing in a big $6 million bag to keep Ewers for another season is not a bad deal. Yes, much like every other elite QB, Ewers had his ups and downs, but when he is playing well, he brings in some solid coverage for the Horns.
From what we heard through the grapevine, Oregon, the Bulldogs, and the Bucks want this guy. For the Ducks, they have thrived off of experienced quarterbacks. Bo Nix managed to break through the NCAA completion record and ended the 2023 run with 77%. Almost every single throw this dude made was on point. 470 passes made, 364 landed.

NEW: Tampering is at an all-time high with Texas QB Quinn Ewers, @PeteNakos_ reports.

Then you look at Dillion Gabriel. Dismantled the 2023 era Horns in a 34-30 bloodbath. Went to the Ducks in 2024. Now Dan Lanning and Co. are the No.1 team in the country. This is a dynasty built on the backs of the greats, so Ewers would be a good addition.
And for the Bucks? Yes, we get it. Michigan’s loss was bad. However, they are on the natty run, and with Will Howard leaving for the draft, Ryan Day is going to lose out on his QB pressure. Bucks have a history of providing some of the best WRs in the NFL. So take that elite receiver corps and pair it with how good Ewers generally is with his throws, and you get the perfect cocktail.
Finally, for Georgia. Carson Beck is off to the draft with an injured arm. Kirby Smart only has Gunner Stockton right now. Not only does this make the natty run complicated and heartbreaking, but the loss of QB depth could derail the Dawgs in 2025. But then again, is all of it even worth it? Former Texas WR Johntay Cook II threw in a shade. “Wasting yall money fr,” Cook pointed out. If the Vols can waste $8 million on a below-average QB like Nico Iamaleava, then $6 million ain’t nothing for Ewers. The fans would agree, right?
What’s your perspective on:
Is Quinn Ewers worth the $6M gamble, or should Texas let him walk?

A waste or a gain?
One fan optimistically pointed out, “Oregon has found their guy!!” As we pointed out before, Ewers at Ducks won’t be that bad. He has the natty run experience, and Will Stein has proven to be an amazing OC who can bring out the best in everyone. He did it with Gabriel; he could do it with Ewers.
But then, this angle takes a hit, as another fan wrote, “Oregon gonna try to get him so they don’t have to develop a QB, again.” This is a very different perspective, but it makes sense. Throwing in money and getting the experienced QBs on the roster saves you from training a recruit. Dan Lanning is playing checkers while we play chess.
“It’s definitely Ohio state or Oregon,” one fan wrote. Still speculation, and we don’t exactly know if Ewers will even opt for the portal or another year of college football. “Georgia paying teams to keep him in college football for an easy win,” a fan threw a bit of shade. Georgia might have sabotaged the entire NFL entry.

Yeah, Smarty lost his QB1, but what’s gonna stop him from stealing Sark’s? Finally, another fan added, “Most likely, Lanning and Knight ..Mr Nike.” What fate awaits Texan QB1?
