Texas Longhorns let their ship sink just near the shore. They received a punch in the gut in the form of a 28-14 loss to the Buckeyes. However, after the Cotton Bowl upset, all eyes were on the Texas’ beating heart, Quinn Ewers, as he was on the verge of leaving Austin for a different destiny. Arch Manning’s sharp emergence has already put an ultimatum on Ewer’s remaining days at Texas. The only doubt swirling over the net was, will it be NFL or another college football program for Ewers?
Well, after a lot of back and forth, Ewers declared he’s patiently awaiting an NFL home, and guess who was the first to beat the drum? None other than his beau, Madelyne Barnes.

Despite all the loopholes, debates, injuries, and the overwhelming Arch Manning comparison, the three-year journey to Texas remains bittersweet for the 21-year-old QB. Ewers remains a rock to Steve Sarkisian and the entire team, always contributing his best to the team. The prodigy threw for 9,128 yards with 68 touchdowns while completing 64.9% of his passes during the storied stint with the Longhorns. Now, it’s time to take off the orange jersey for good and embrace a new start in your career. But the last goodbye always carries some special feeling wrapped in words.
“My entire life,” Ewers said. “I’ve dreamed about playing football on the 40 Acres. These past three years have been some of the best years I could have imagined. The relationships I built between coaches and teammates will last forever. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to play football in my home state at the best university in the world. With prayer and careful consideration, I’m officially declaring for the NFL draft.”
Madelyne soaked up the emotion and penned a super kind and thoughtful message to cheer her boy up. ”Can’t wait to see what the future holds, I’ll always be your biggest supporter! No matter what team,” Barnes wrote in her latest IG story with smirking eyes emoji.

Many fans and veterans have dished doubt on Ewers’ draft future for obvious reasons. He had mounted some terrible games in the season. With the frequent turnovers and countless bad plays during the game against Georgia and in a few more lackluster games after the injury comeback, Ewers’ NFL stock hit a significant low. But as he has already made up his mind, some NFL teams seem to be QB deficit and hence a perfect fit for Ewers. Teams include the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Indianapolis Colts.
No matter what the future awaits for Ewersm, coach Steve Sarkisian subtly showcased his thoughts about the trademark decision.
Steve Sarkisian gave a silent thumbs-up to Quinn Ewers’ latest career move
Steve Sarkisian has taken bullets in his back to safeguard Quinn Ewers amidst the heavy criticism. In the middle of a tumultuous season, when the prized QB failed to live up to his standard, Sarkisian never lost faith in him. Despite the constant pressure to pass the torch to Arch Manning, the Texas head coach stuck to his favorite boy, sometimes quite stubbornly so. His patience bore fruit as Quinn Ewers rose from the ashes and led the team to a semi-final game in an excellent 39-31 rally against Arizona State.

He led Texas to back-to-back CFP semifinal appearances and a Big 12 title and even took the team to an SEC Championship Game in the Longhorns’ first season in the conference. So, Sarkisian didn’t count on him for anything. But as the reality loomed large, Sarkisian had to make a tough decision between Manning and Ewers. Because he couldn’t risk Manning for one more year as the backup amidst the heavy NIL allurement. Quinn Ewers just made his task easy.
After he declared for the NFL Draft, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian shared Ewers’ announcement post on his social media handle but without a caption or even an emoji. It could be his way of showcasing his silent support to the one-of-a-kind QB, or he simply failed to put his emotion into words.
Whatever the case, at the end of the day, Quinn Ewers’ era came to a permanent halt in Texas. 3, 2, 1. It’s a wrap! That’s it, that’s all!
