Is Davis Warren the answer to Michigan's quarterback woes, or just a temporary fix?

The Michigan Wolverines desperately needed a win this Saturday after a challenging start to the season. Head coach Sherrone Moore has faced ups and downs, particularly following back-to-back losses. However, the team rebounded with a victory against their rivals, the Michigan State Spartans. Are they back on track? This week they will have former QB J.J. McCarthy supporting them from the stands. Wait, what?

When Moore decided to change his QBs, it felt like Dravis Warren lost his job. Did you feel the same? Once he stepped on the field against Michigan State, he showed the other side of his personality and did not just earn the trust of the head coach and other coaching staff. Charles sports writer shared a video on his YouTube channel where Dravis cleared some air and mentioned the things that affected him: “First few games I feel like 90% of what I did was good. But playing quarterback is 100% of the plays, so you got to be on it 100% of the time, and that was something that I you know, took to heart. Something that I had to work on and I think that was something that I did a good job in Camp of and got away from a little bit.”

Throughout the season, they have dealt with ongoing quarterback issues, but Davis Warren has taken these challenges to heart. In this game, he delivered an impressive performance, leading Michigan to a 24-17 victory with some outstanding plays. After steeping in for J.J. McCarthy, he has struggled with his position, which led to a quarterback shuffle with the team. Do you know that three different QBs have started for Michigan so far? However, Warren has revealed things he took to heart that improved his performance and helped Wolverines win their recent game.

He further shed light on the importance of security with pigskin in the Michigan Wolverines’ offense and mentioned, “I was just that was really the message: just protect the football. You know the ball is the program and that’s pillar number one of our offense. Something that we didn’t do and that’s the number one goal to quarterback so that was something I took a lot of pride in going to the game and obviously we did a great job.” This season Warren has completed 48 out of 72 passes for 443 yards and threw two touchdowns, but his minor mistakes somewhere overshadowed his performance. In their recent victory, he completed 13 out of 19 passes, throwing for 123 yards and scored a touchdown.

J.J. McCarthy is an honorary captain for the Wolverines game against Oregon

Michigan had one of the best quarterbacks in the country last season. J.J. McCarthy played a significant role in helping the Wolverines win the national championship. We have good news for Michigan fans. Your favorite player is back! McCarthy is set to return to Ann Arbor this Saturday to support the Wolverines against the top-ranked Oregon Ducks.

Head coach Moore has announced him as honorary captain against Oregon. He deserves the position and the love. Now you would be wondering if the Minnesota Vikings’s QB is healthy. No! He is not; he is still suffering from his season-ending knee injury. In spite of being unhealthy, he has chosen to support and be there for his former team, which speaks lot about his personality and sportsmanship. Unfortunately, he could not start for his team this season as he is recovering from a torn meniscus he sustained during the preseason game.
