Well, we are used to seeing only one side of Pat McAfee now. It has been eight years since the Indianapolis Colts punter retired from the NFL in February 2007. Right after that, he joined Barstool Sports as a contributor. Now we are used to seeing him in a tuxedo sharing the seat with legends like Nick Saban for ESPN’s College GameDay. Or he is in his casual wear, for his podcast the Pat McAfee Show. Thanks to his wife, Samantha. We now get to see a new side of McAfee, as the couple is off for a dreamy Valentine’s vacation to celebrate the week of love.

McAfee has been a man of many talents. The West Virginia University alum took retirement from sports at the tender age of 29. The All-Pro selection then pursued his career in media and launched his popular sports talk show. One by one breakthroughs came in for McAfee. In 2023, he inked a five-year, $85 million deal with ESPN. He manages his commentator role sharing his takes on college football and WWE. As he kept on making strides in his career, McAfee continued building a life with Samantha.

In every step of his life, McAfee has found his ladylove by his side. The couple got married in 2020. At present, they are a family of three after they became parents to a daughter, Mackenzie, in 2023. So, McAfee and Samantha hardly get time together with each other. That calls for some time together this Valentine’s week, and what better option than taking a getaway? On February 11, Samantha, whose IG handle is “mrsmcafeeshow” shared some snaps from their vacation on her IG story. It showed McAfee looking cool in his easy breezy beachwear – a black sleeveless top, shorts, flip flops. Not to forget his beach hat and sunnies.

Looks like the couple booked a private jet. To set the mood for Valentine’s week vacation, we could spot a bouquet, a teddy bear lying on the seat, and a “LOVE you” balloon. And yes, they did not miss their favorite Starbucks cuppa. Samantha did not come with a long lovey-dovey post. Instead, she kept it short and sweet and wrote “#Romance” followed by a pink little heart and tagged McAfee. The McAfee couple has always set the bar high when it comes to love.

Pat McAfee’s big proposal to Samantha 

While everybody knows about Pat McAfee and celebrates him, Samantha’s contribution to society can’t go unseen. The mother of one is a longtime animal advocate and has extensive experience caring for animals. A personal incident has shaped her life forever. After Samantha’s dog had been treated for canine cancer, it inspired her to create Fur The Brand – a non-profit organization raising awareness for canine cancer and providing financial assistance for treatment.

However, despite their busy schedule, the couple never misses out on a moment to celebrate their love. Remember the grand proposal by Pat McAfee? Back in February 2019, when Samantha was dating him, they took the annual post-football season trip to Hawaii. That’s when the punter thought of changing their relationship status and came up with the most creative proposal.

The McAfee couple visited touristy spots before hopping onto a helicopter from where they admired a rainforest. The pilot then took an abrupt turn. Samantha recalled what happened on their first anniversary on IG, “He surprised me by having the pilot land at the base of the biggest waterfall I have personally ever seen. As we were taking a cute photo at the waterfall it was at that moment my boyfriend became my fiancé. 💛.” The couple then got August 1, 2020, more than a year after getting engaged and four years of dating. Even after all these years, Pat McAfee and Samantha know how to keep the magic alive.
