A massive upset can send fans wild, and that’s exactly what happened when the underdog Vanderbilt Commodores shocked the CFB world by beating Alabama 40-35. Well, Vandy fans are over the moon now! While the defeat may be devastating for Alabama, but the significance of Vanderbilt’s win against a team with a championship history cannot be overlooked. And Commodores fans’ recent gesture shows exactly how much head over heels they are over the fact that they actually defeated Bama.

Today, after their game, fans went crazy and did something no one saw coming. Sports analyst Pat McAfee summed it up perfectly in his X post: “#College Football is Amazing.” In the video shared by McAfee, fans took up the whole football goalpost on their shoulders and were walking like a marching band all over the place. It might look like an exaggerated way to celebrate a win, but what else can you expect when you defeat an undefeated team in the tournament?

Vanderbilt had a significant night as they ended their 40-year losing streak against the Crimson Tide and achieved their first victory over a top-five team in their program’s history. Eight plays after Jalen Milroe’s fumble, Pavia connected with tight end Kamrean Johnson for a 6-yard touchdown on third down.

Pavia’s transfer to Vanderbilt wasn’t one of the most notable moves in the transfer portal this season. Yet, it has already had a major impact. In today’s game, Pavia completed 16 out of her 20 passes for 252 yards with two touchdowns. Now you know why their win needs a celebration like this.
