For Steve Sarkisian, it’s all about juggling two playbooks—one for the Lone Star Showdown, another for the Red River Rivalry. This weekend was pure fire on the vibe meter with rivalry games turning up the heat, but it wasn’t just epic plays; feuds and unsportsmanlike moments stole the spotlight too. From Texas vs. Texas A&M’s in-state grudge match to Alabama’s Iron Bowl sideline brawl, and Michigan-Ohio State’s fierce clash in ‘The Game,’ emotions ran wild. Sarkisian preaches discipline and sportsmanship, but let’s face it, rivalries like the Red River Showdown write their own chaotic rules.

Texas players, fueled by passion, let emotions overflow, racking up penalties that spoke louder than their game. In these high-stakes battles, the line between grit and chaos blurs, leaving Sarkisian with a tough balancing act. And it looks like Longhorns head coach doesn’t remember what happened during their game against Oklahoma Sooners. But even if coach Sarkisian missed it, fans and critics will never let things slide easily.

On December 1st, Yahoo Sports took to Instagram, sharing Steve Sarkisian’s recent interview clip on their rivalry game against Texas A&M. “Rivalries are great, but there’s a way to win it with class. Rivalries are great, but there’s a way to win it with class. And I just didn’t think that’s the right thing to do. We shouldn’t be on their logo. We shouldn’t be planting any flags on their logo,” Sark said.

But that is exactly the opposite of what happened during their game against Oklahoma. Well, the Longhorns and Texas A&M played each other after a long time, and this is one of the fiercest rivalries in CFB. But unlike the Longhorns’ other rivalry games, Steve Sarkisian warned his team to not plant their flag on the Texas A&M logo in the field, and fortunately, this warning avoided potential fights. However, one thing led to another, and somehow Sarkisian’s words became a reason for trolling him and the team.

Well, even if Steve Sarkisian’s words might have turned out diplomatic, knowing the team’s behavior against Oklahoma and the way they flagged their team’s logo in their field made it all go wrong. He at least didn’t let it happen in their game against A&M. Well, the Longhorns’ big win over Oklahoma (34-3) was impressive, but their performance against A&M was much more controlled and disciplined.

This win was not only important for the Longhorns’ future in the SEC tournament but also an ultimate response to their rivals, Texas A&M. Now that the team won with a high margin of 17-7 against A&M, they not only have high chances to make it to the playoffs but also have secured a strong overall conference presence with an 11-1 record. But some things were concerning too. Even though the team won the game, their star quarterback, Quinn Ewers, was barely average in the whole game. Moreover, the shocking thing is Arch Manning scored the first touchdown in the game.

Now, apart from using them alone, the team should use their quarterbacks together in the game if they really want to win against the Georgia Bulldogs in their upcoming game. Now that the Longhorns have overcome all their battles of this season, it’s time to see how the team will perform in their postseason games to make a strong presence for them.
