In times of adversity, every decision becomes crucial—and Ohio State University is feeling the pressure. With a looming $37 million financial burden, the intensity is soaring for Ryan Day. The fact that they have suffered four consecutive defeats against their greatest rival has deeply angered the fans, and talk of potential changes is becoming increasingly pronounced. In the high-risk environment of college football, success is vital, and Day’s upcoming move could very well determine his fate. Keep your eyes peeled, because the situation in Columbus is reaching its climax!
Well, it looks like the past horror of $76M Jimbo Fisher comes back to haunt Ryan Day as Paul Finebaum issues his ultimatum on OSU HC today on ESPN College Football show, saying, “Well, first of all, I don’t believe any athletic director’s statement of support. That same athletic director, Greeny, Ross Bjork—he was at Texas A&M two years ago. He was with Jimbo Fisher until he fired him and gave him a $76 million payoff. So that’s just complete balderdash. The bottom line is that he has to make a serious run.” It is safe to say that Coach Ryan’s position with the team has taken a more intense turn than expected.

Losing four straight games against their archrival Michigan won’t look good for Ryan Day’s coaching style, plus knowing the history of Ohio State’s athletic director’s harsh decision for the upliftment of the team is something that is adding fuel to the fire. Now talking about Bucks AD Ross Bjork and what he did when he was working for Texas A&M is very concerning for Coach Ryan. During his time at Texas, Bjork fired former A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher for not having any progress with the team. Now Finebaum is highlighting the same thing but for Ryan Day.
Now the million-dollar question is, even though Ryan Day has Ross Bjork’s vote of confidence, as he says, “He is our coach,” and he also didn’t hold himself back from mentioning that their main goal is to focus on the playoffs, will Bjork also hold himself back from taking Ryan Day out of the program if they don’t make it till then? Considering that $76M was not a big deal for him, $37M doesn’t seem to even fall in that ballpark!

Ryan Day’s thoughts on the loss against Michigan
Well, losing to the Michigan Wolverines is the last thing any Bucks fan would have ever imagined in their wildest dreams. But misery comes when you expect it the most. And when your team loses, the thrashing shows more on its mentor rather than the players. But now, not only do Ryan Day and the team have to face the repercussions terms of Day’s tenure in jeopardy but also the team’s future in the playoffs. Winning is one thing, but not even getting the chance to compete is a whole other variant.
Even head coach Ryan Day couldn’t make peace with the fact that the team lost this crucial game, as he said, “Never thought this would happen right here. We’re expecting to win this game and then go play in the Big Ten Championship Game, and neither of those things happened.”
