Is a heartbreak waiting for Ryan Day regarding his highest-ranked commitment of the 2025 class? 5-star CB Na’eem Offord sealed the deal for Ohio State when he committed to them back in February over Auburn, Alabama, and more. But his attendance at the Florida vs LSU game on Saturday can only mean that something could be brewing up in The Swamps. Does this mean competition for the Buckeyes?

In a new YouTube episode on On3 Recruits on November 17, Steve Wiltfong appeared alongside Josh Newberg to deliver fresh recruitment intel on Na’eem Offord. Wiltfong reported how the No. 3 CB’s family expressed their satisfaction over their visit. He said, “I think him and his family are having a good time. Texted with his dad a little bit today. Obviously Florida’s climbing uphill in that recruitment but I talked to a source earlier in the week that thought that there was genuine interest from the offered camp in Florida so we’ll see.”

Na’eem Offord was one among the five 5-star prospects who turned up to see Florida deliver an upset victory over LSU. The Gators exceeded most people’s expectations after dealing a 27-16 blow to Brian Kelly‘s Tigers, wiping off their season’s playoff hopes for good. Surely that game at The Swamp must have intrigued the No. 1 CB in the state of Alabama. But the competition is fierce.

Wiltfong added, “Obviously Auburn is the program that we project is maybe the best chance to flip him from Ohio State. Certainly Oregon is also in the thick of that one for Na’eem Offord.” The only thing that’s left of Billy Napier and the Gators to prove is if they can be the program “where he feels like he could develop and be the best player he can be.” But he wasn’t the only recruitment hype present in Florida.

For Florida, one of the best things about Saturday’s victory over LSU is that there were several blue chip prospects present at the game. In addition to Na’eem Offord, the Gators hosted 5-star prospects – OL Solomon Thomas, DJ Pickett, and Dallas Watson of the 2025 class and 5-star Zion Elee of the 2026 class. Steve Wiltfong said, “I do think that Florida’s going to land several guys that were on campus this weekend in the 2025 class that are not currently committed to Florida.”

National Signing Day is almost here with just 16 days left! Billy Napier is yet to sign a 5-star commitment in the 2025 class. Ohio State currently ranks 33rd in the nation in recruiting with 12 commits (six 4-stars and six 3-stars). Will they be able to sign a blue chip prospect to kindle their future hope? The remaining two games will be important for the Gators to prove themselves.
