Jaxson Dart is in absolute awe of his former Ole Miss teammate’s performance. Like many fans, the Ole Miss quarterback was glued to the screen during Saturday’s Baltimore Ravens vs. Atlanta Falcons game. The Ravens managed a nail-biting 13-12 win, and Dart was all about giving props to the guy who helped them pull. And the star of the moment was none other than former Rebels wide receiver, Dayton Wade.
Wade, often called a “Swiss army knife” for his versatility, has always impressed with his ability to pass, catch, and even run the ball with some amazing footwork. Now, in his debut NFL season, Wade has made an unforgettable iconic move that’s taking the internet by storm.
During Saturday’s game, Ravens quarterback Emory Jones launched a 56-yard TD pass to Wade. And the next thing we can see is the rookie WR effortlessly moving past Falcons defenders with “an elite double move.” Dart was so hyped that he couldn’t keep it to himself, and posted the touchdown clip on his Instagram Story with the caption, “He’s a problem.” It’s clear Dart is giving a well-deserved shout-out to an underdog.

While the Falcons were without their veteran QB Kirk Cousins and the Ravens missed Lamar Jackson, it was the younger players who stole the show. But this game especially felt like Wade’s moment in the spotlight. Despite going undrafted, Wade signed with the Ravens late last year and is now proving he deserved some hype all along.

Even during his time at Ole Miss, Wade was an underrated star, racking up 7 touchdowns and 1,100 receiving yards last season alone. Dart joined Ole Miss in 2022, just as Wade was solidifying his place on Kiffin’s team. Looking back, it’s quite clear that both the Rebels stars have come a long way!
Jaxson Dart is carving his legacy at Ole Miss
Jaxson Dart joined Ole Miss as a freshman in 2022, and he’s been steadily making his mark ever since. While seniors like Dayton Wade were already putting up impressive numbers to enter the NFL, Dart was still finding his footing.

But during last year’s spring practice, Wade couldn’t help but praise the young QB. He noted how Dart stays cool under pressure, and never rattled when facing new challenges. “He’s staying locked on his targets and making a lot of great decisions. I’ve seen him grow a lot in just a few months…I’m really excited to see him getting closer to his ceiling,” Wade said.
It turns out, Wade was right. Last season, Dart went crazy, throwing for 3,364 yards and 23 touchdowns. Now he’s to a point where everyone’s raving about him as a potential first-round draft pick. While many mock drafts highlight Georgia’s QB Carson Beck and Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders as top prospects, Dart has been making his own waves quite silent. Just last month, he was ranked the No. 1 SEC quarterback, ahead of Beck and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe in the top three spots. Looks like the Rebels might just have another star in the making.
