Week 13th of the 2024 college football season came out as a tornado and swiped away big names such as the Alabama Crimson Tide and Colorado Buffaloes. It was way more embarrassing for Alabama because they lost against an unranked team like Oklahoma. The same team that faced not less than five defeats so far this season before crushing the Tide. Win or lose are the two ultimate results of any game, but a scoreboard score of 24-3 seems scary! While it was a doomsday for Bama fans, Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables had a blast!

So on Monday, Venables said he celebrated this win by spending $94 at Taco Bell with his two daughters. Boy, oh boy, $94, seriously? If you roughly order 55 tacos, 55 pies, and 55 cokes, then your pockets can barely touch that much money. Venables might have brought 40 tacos, three fountain drinks, a side of fries, and guacamole to nearly pay the bill! Now the internet is going crazy, love Venables’ Taco Bell claim and Tom Fernelli, a CBS analyst, went a step ahead and questioned it on his X account.

“$94 of Taco Bell could feed a town.” Though the man got a point, the internet didn’t get any chill the other day and bombarded him with tons of negative comments under his post. Now, a media person, Mike Gloic Jr., came forward and fueled the fire by jumping into the ongoing debate.

“Tom Fernelli, a friend of the program here, does a great job over at the Cover Three podcast and made the offhand comment that spending $100 at Taco Bell has been a historically impossible task. And he threw there out there and got blasted by people talking about, well, it’s 2024 boomer, and now things cost a little more. $94 at Taco Bell in whatever year still buys you a lot of food. And people trying to act like that’s not a lot of food here; that’s not accurate.”

If you open the comment box under Fernelli’s post, you’ll find wild reactions from fans saying Fernelli is out of touch with the common folks with this post and things like that. Some even said that he’s correct but it goes to the scenario we had 10 years ago!

One of them even claimed that he spent $40 at Taco Bell the other day only on himself! Well, that’s just crazy; as they say, there are always two kinds of people. Maybe the ones who support Fernelli are on one side, and the ones who follow the kind of diet Vanabels and his boys needed to beat Alabama are on the other side.

Yeah, the way they pressurized Alabama’s O-line during the game can’t say if they spent a whole lot of bucks at Taco Bell before the game!

Brent Venables boys crushed Alabama’s offense

This game is going to be remembered for years to come in the history of Alabama and Oklahoma! After all, Alabama was riding with a great season after facing two losses against Vanderbilt and Tennessee. Now with just two weeks left in the season to end, the Sooners took away Alabama’s playoff hopes as well. Moreover, their defense turned heads, holding the Tide to just a field goal, resulting in the Bama’s lowest-scoring game in 20 years.

Kalen DeBoer’s starboy Jalen Milroe was shut down with three picks and he only managed seven rushing yards. Besides that, Sooners has been quite consistent this season, holding a 16th rank in total defense and 23rd in scoring defense. Their key players, like Danny Strutsman, with 100 tackles, and Robert Spears-Jennings, who’s forced four fumbles, have mastered their bounce backs. However, head coach Brent Venable is still not convinced to call themselves “elite,” saying, “Let’s see the season’s full story before making those claims!”

Entering week 14th, Brent Venables’s boys will face LSU. And they’re not mistaking the Tigers’ power-packed offense led by quarterback Garret Nussmeier and the strong group of wide receivers. So their main focus will be to bring the same burst of energy they showcased against Bama to crush LSU as well.
